I know I'm sounding like a teenage girl right now, but I really don't care. It's not all the bootie shaking that Luke does, or his boyish good looks. But his heart! He is a kind & authentic soul. There's nothing phony or fake about Luke. Trust me, I can smell fake coming a mile away and this video you are about to watch is the real deal. Luke Bryan with his heart wide open. Watch as he grants Tatum Libbesmeier's wish. She is a little girl afflicted with cancer. He recently performed in the "CMA Country Christmas " event this past Monday, which I know many of you watched. He actually made several dreams come true for the beautiful and brave child. Luke performed an intimate, private concert when he met Tatum and her family. Tatum also attended the holiday special (after getting her hair and nails done, of course). At the end of his first song, Luke came off the stage to hug and kiss her — he even wore her bracelet while he sang ‘Run Run Rudolph!’ Her parents said that for this Make-a-Wish fulfillment, Luke Bryan went more than the extra mile. He gave the little girl a whole stash of goodies, including a license plate and boots, and added her name to one of his lyrics when he sang for her, which is incredibly sweet. He also gave the little girl a bus tour and they walked hand-in-hand back to her limo. Now get your Kleenex ready, because you're going to cry I promise and you'll love Luke Bryan more than you already do!
Now that was precious and the big reason why I love Country Music artists, especially Luke Bryan, the way I do.

16-year-old Frankie Antonelli who has downs syndrome knew he was performing a Darius Rucker song in his High School talent show, but what he didn’t know was that Darius was going to join him on stage. This warmed my heart, because it reminded me that country music artist are the best and most caring group out there. There were cheers as Frankie sang Darius Rucker’s song, ‘We Still Got Time.’ But at about 3:10 sec into the song the cheers got louder as Daruis joins him on stage. Very cool moment and they ended the song with a hug on the stage of Wando High School in Rucker’s native South Carolina. I love country artists for this reason. They show their hearts and do wonderful things for others. There is no other genre that does it better than country.

On this day 50 years ago, a gunman shot & killed President John F. Kennedy. Where were you when it happened?
This image if forever etched in my brain. I was in kindergarten and I remember my mother being glued to the television with tears streaming down her face. I asked her why she was crying and she did her best to explain to me that someone had killed our President. The leader of our country had been shot. At the age of five, I wasn't sure how to process that. But all these years later, I understand. It was a dark time for our nation. The entire world was sad that day and the dreams for this young President were all dashed by the shot of a lone gunman. At least that is the story that we've been told all of these years. There are many theories as to what really happened, but we'll never really know. One thing we do now is where we were that day. So where were you?
Below is a copy of the Zapruder film of the events as they
unfolded that day.
Now there is New Motorcade Footage of the JFK Assassination which Could Challenge Lone-Gunman Theory (Exclusive) Click here
RIP John F. Kennedy & Jacqueline

I’ve had the honor of befriending Megan & Rob Shank along with their son Cash Shank , his older brother Wyatt and little sister Gracee. So for me this message is personal and comes with a lot of love. We’ve embraced them as our own. They are family. I think all of JUG Country as well as many all over the country and the world itself feel this way. We’ve watched their journey unfold before our very eyes. We’ve witnessed the heartache that Megan & Rob have had to endure watching their son Cash fight for his life. We celebrated his victories and cheered him on as he appeared to get better. Last week Megan went to Cash’s FB page and asked us for prayer for him as he was beginning to show signs of his illness again. It was she & Rob’s biggest fear. He was taken to the hospital for testing and the MRI results were not in his favor. The disease is back. It was crushing for the family including all of us who have prayed, given, hoped and celebrated. Now they are faced with the inevitable as the doctors say that they can do no more for him. Their plan is to make him as comfortable as possible while enjoying every second that they can with their son. A fund has been set up via gofundme for Cash. You can click on the link and make a donation.
Cash is an inspiration to many including all of us here. He’s filmed two commercials for St. Jude’s – one with actress Jennifer Aniston in Los Angeles who he wowed with his outgoing & spunky personality and another one with talk show host Jimmy Fallon in New York. The real star here was Cash. See behind the scenes video.
Look for the Thanks and Giving Campaign which will air over the Thanksgiving holiday. Cash went and filmed another commercial with Jimmy Fallon in New York as well. As Megan said, pay no attention to the egg in Jimmy's hair!
When he got off the plane from New York he appeared at the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Many of us would have been too exhausted to even show up after traveling so far, but not Cash.
There are so many things that I have learned from this amazing 5 year old boy and that is never give up, keep fighting, dance, hug, smile, and #liveloud in spite of your circumstances. I love this child and I love his family and I will keep praying and believing for a miracle. I hope you’ll do the same. God Bless the Shank family! God Bless Cash!

The devastation is wide spread and thousands are without food & water. The Red Cross and many other humanitarian agencies are doing what they can to raise money to bring the badly needed basics to the Philippines. The photo above is the city of Bogo on the island of Cebu which suffered massive structural damage. Photo: Jarkko Mikkonen/Finnish Red Cross . The photos and stories coming out of there are horrendous. Thank God for all of the wonderful agencies like the Red Cross who are setting up there and providing relief. I've been following this and feel moved to talk about it. It's hard to turn a blind eye and not do anything or pretend it's not happening. So I'm giving you an opportunity to give and do your part to help. Whether it's $5.00 or more (the price of a Starbucks drink) you can make a difference.
Click here if you'd like to help and make a difference. ~Rose

11/12/13 Good Luck? Not For Me. Here's How Jake Owen Saved The Day With His Best Luke Bryan Impression!
So I get home last night and my usual routine is dinner, unwinding, maybe watch a DRV'd program on TV. My honey says he needs to go online and work on his health insurance survey online. So he goes back and tries to log onto Windows 7, he comes back into the kitchen and asks me what the password is again, which was what he used to log on and he said he couldn't get on. So I see that the CAPS lock is on, then I turn it off and try to log on and it won't log me on. So apparently I've been locked out of my sign in. You never realize how dependent you are to your computer until you're locked out. Needless to say, I went to bed late and was very frustrated! Not a good end to the day, but things could've been worse.
So this morning I wake up, I know what I have to do to get my computer unlocked. Grab my coffee, kiss my honey good bye. I get in my car, start it up and start to back out. Car doesn't feel right, so I put it in park and go and look at my tires. I have a flat! That's how my 11/12/13 started! LOL! Not a good luck day so far. But the good news is it didn't happen on my long drive to work. Thank God my honey gave me his truck keys and said get to work, I'll take care of it. I just love him! In any case, I just got to work and this video put a big ol' smile on my face. Pretty much rescued my day! It's Jake Owen doing his best Luke Bryan impression. Hey, it's a pretty good one too! It's a short clip, but did the trick. Hope it makes your day too!
We're taking your requests in the Drive Thru Lunch brought to you by Randy's Bistro in Porterville and a chance to win lunch for two.
Plus we're celebrating some of the music of the 90's in your KJUG Classic Cut of The Day at 2:25pm Today it's Mary Chapin Carpenter and Passionate Kisses.

We are paying tribute to our Veterans today! Especially those of the “Greatest Generation.” I found this story very touching. When these men served, many of them were in their late teens and early 20’s. This special group of men known as the Doolittle Raiders, the 80 men who risked their lives on a World War II bombing mission on Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor were toasted one last time by their surviving comrades and honored with a Veterans Day weekend of fanfare shared by thousands.
Three of the four surviving Raiders attended the toast on Saturday at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Their late commander, Lt. Gen. James "Jimmy" Doolittle, started the tradition but they decided this ceremony would be their very last.
"May they rest in peace," Lt. Col. Richard Cole, 98, said before he and fellow Raiders — Lt. Col. Edward Saylor, 93, and Staff Sgt. David Thatcher, 92 — sipped cognac from specially engraved silver goblets. The 1896 cognac was saved for the occasion after being passed down from Doolittle.
Hundreds invited to the ceremony, including family members of deceased Raiders, watched as the three each called out "here" as a historian read the names of all 80 of the original airmen. The fourth surviving Raider, Lt. Col. Robert Hite, 93, couldn't travel to Ohio because of health problems. But son Wallace Hite said his father, wearing a Raiders blazer and other traditional garb for their reunions, made his own salute to the fallen with a silver goblet of wine at home in Nashville, Tenn., earlier in the week. Hite is the last survivor of eight Raiders who were captured by Japanese soldiers. Three were executed; another died in captivity.
A B-25 bomber flyover helped cap an afternoon memorial tribute in which a wreath was placed at the Doolittle Raider monument outside the museum. Museum officials estimated some 10,000 people turned out for Veterans Day weekend events honoring the 1942 mission credited with rallying American morale and throwing the Japanese off balance. God bless them all and where would we be if not for all who have played a part in the defense and security of freedom all over the globe.
To those who have served, thank you! To those still serving, thank you and we continue praying for your safety and return home to your families.
To my dad, a Korean War veteran, thank you for your service. I’m proud of you and I love you!
This Monday, November 11th We Celebrate Our Veterans. Check Out This Time Lapsed Transformation Of A Homeless Veteran. It Changes His Life!
Watching this video reminded me how you can help to change lives one person at a time. This Veteran's Day, think of what you can do to make a difference, whether it's donate some time to help a local Veterans organization, donate food and diapers for those Veterans who have families and are making a tough transition into the civilian world. Attend a parade, register for a walk/run, etc. Click here for local events.
Jim Wolf, a homeless Army veteran, just recently got a makeover courtesy of Michigan-based homeless advocacy Degage Ministries. The transformation is amazing and has changed Wolf's life. Watch the video until the end to see his reaction. Click here for more info on Degage Ministries.

I saw this video yesterday and had to re-apply my make-up. The wonderful young men on a middle school football team in Michigan have a deeper understanding of the game that many pros may never reach. The Olivet Eagles football team at Olivet Middle School in Olivet, Michigan, decided to run a play and intentionally not score, all without their coaches knowing. The football team planned the play for weeks, all so they could set up a very special moment for a special boy. Keith Orr is a special needs child, and his buddies on the football team decided to give him the chance to run for a touchdown. Sheridan Hedrick, a player on the team, would’ve easily scored a touchdown, but he instead took a knee on the 1-yard line, and the crowd wasn’t happy. That was until the next play happened: the “Keith Special.” The ball was hiked and quickly handed to Keith, who ran forward as his teammates protected him from the oncoming defense. Keith scored without a scratch. The boys did much more than help Keith score a touchdown; they brought more than a community together, because this video has gone viral. It has touched many lives for the better. I hope this video touches you the way it did me. (Go get your Kleenex, you’re going to need it!)
I hope this made your day Going to talk more about the CMA's of course and we have a couple of chances for you to qualify to Get Outta Town. Plus we have your Drive Thru Lunch brought to you by Randy's Bistro in Porterville. Your chance to win lunch for two and we'll be taking you requests and dedications.
Then at 2:25 it's the KJUG Classic Cut of The Day, paying tribute to all the hard working men and women in JUG Country with songs about work. Today's song is a suggestion from one of our listeners. It's Johnny Paycheck and Take This Job & Shove It, your KJUG Classic Cut of The Day.
Tonight it’s Country Music’s biggest night, the 47th CMA Awards on ABC 30 starting at 8pm. There’s going to be a lot of new music debuted. Doing the hosting honors once again is Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood, so you know it’s going to be hilarious. Special performances by Miranda Lambert & Keith Urban, Zac Brown Band with the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, plus Eric Church as promised will perform his new single live and something I’m looking forward to, an Allstar tribute to Kenny Rogers. They certainly have a lot of songs to work with. He has so many hits to choose from. See past winners, last year’s red carpet & live performance pictures on the Official CMA page, Click here

He did talk about his booty shaking in the interview too as well as the overwhelming loss he and his family have suffered with the loss of his big brother and sister. He is definitely dedicated to his family, even putting his dreams for a country music career on hold to stay home with his folks after both of his siblings passed. Made me love Luke Bryan even more. Now if that doesn't make your Hump Day, nothing will!

The Vince Gill show was out of this world. I got to play auctioneer and we raised over $2400 dollars for Family Services of Tulare County & The Visalia Fox Theater. Vince autographed two guitars and we auctioned those. The bidding was fast & furious and to be honest with you, that was my very first auction! Below is the set list from that night and I was fortunate enough to have a great conversation with Vince before the show and get it signed. He's a wonderful, down to earth man! Class act!
Here are a couple more shots of Vince and Pedal Steel Guitar Player, the amazing Paul Franklin who teamed up with Vince on the new album Bakersfield. They played some Buck Owens and Merle tunes and had the place rocking with Liza Jane. Then crying with Bread & Water and Go Rest High! He is an amazing storyteller, mostly telling stories about his beloved dad and brother. And we got the back story on how the song "It's Hard To Kiss The Lips At Night That Chew Your Ass Out All day Long!" Soooo fun!
We will be playing some Vince in the Drive Thru Lunch brought to you by Randy's Bistro in Porterville. Plus we'll take all of your requests and dedications. We're hearing that Kennedy, 49, walked into the path of the bus in the northbound lane of US 41 North, we're also hearing that he was previously arrested on Oct. 8 for walking down the center lane of the same highway. A press release from the Vincennes Police Department shows that Kennedy "was found walking on the center line on U.S. Hwy 41 N. walking south, causing vehicles to have to brake on the highway." He was arrested for obstructing traffic, and held in the Knox County Jail on $3000 bond. He was also arrested on Oct. 22 for stealing a bicycle. He was charged with theft, a class D felony, and held in the Knox County Jail on $6500 bond. Jason was on the bus at the time of the crash, sent his condolences to Kennedy’s family. He said, "With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana," he said. "In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same." The investigation into the accident continues. We'll have more information when it becomes available.
Don't forget we'll continue to qualify you to "Get Outta Town" plus we have a chance for you to win lunch for two from Hoagies Hero's with our Drive Thru Lunch and we'll take your lunch time requests and dedications.

I'm a very proud mom & he's a good son. We had a blast in South Florida where we stayed with him for a couple of days. Then we jumped on a cruise for 4 days with Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's called the "Simpleman Cruise." I've been on this cruise for the last 6 years and it is a celebration of music and frynds from all over the US and the world.
We took a tour through the home of the great writer Ernest Hemmingway &

So I will miss you, but I will be back on the 28th of October. Until then, you're in good hands. Chad will be filling in for me in my absence.
Country music comes to help whenever it's needed. And just because you hear about everything but Colorado in the news doesn't mean that they no longer need help. Many folks lost everything! Homes, cars, clothes and now some are waiting on insurance, the government said it would help, but with the shut down and all, well needless to say these folks have been let down. Until now. Billy Dean, Andy Griggs, Jamie O’Neal and newly-reunited band Trick Pony (Heidi Newfield, Keith Burns and Ira Dean) will all head to Colorado for Neighbors Helping Neighbors Colorado Country – Nashville Rises, to help those who are still recovering from the devastating September flood. The storm, which lasted one full week, resulted in eight fatalities and more than 19,000 homes damaged or destroyed.
All of the proceeds from the night of music will go directly to victims of the Colorado flood. The concert will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colo. Tickets are $20 and $30 and are available for purchase here. If you can't attend, maybe make a donation. ~Rose

Then at 2:25pm today, it's your KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day Celebrating the great duets of Country Music. Our song was co-written by Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson & Freddy Powers. The song was the first single where our artists worked together. The single went to number one for one week and spent a total of fourteen weeks on the country charts. Our artists are Merle Haggard & Janie Fricke and our KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day Is ":Looking For A Place To Fall Apart," on 1067 KJUG Country.
Rodney Atkins give us and early taste from his upcoming album with the debut single, ‘Doin’ It Right.’
The song was released last week, Tuesday (Oct. 8) exclusively on iTunes. Rodney says he knew from the first time he heard the uptempo song that he wanted it to be on his album.
“‘Doin’ It Right’ is a song I just heard [on a] Jay Knowles work tape, and it simply killed me,” Rodney tells Roughstock. “It reminded me of a Bob Dylan kind of lyric that just nailed me with every word. I felt like the good Lord needed me to hear this song. I couldn’t wait to record it. I pray that it touches folks’ lives the way it has touched mine.”.
Now that I have your curiosity up, here's where you can download it and check it out!
Don't forget the Drive Thru Lunch and a chance for you to win lunch for two from Hoagies Hero's in Porterville. We'll take your lunch time requests and dedications as well.

Kenny Chesney was one of the first country artists to sell out stadiums, so he knows a thing or two about how to rock a large crowd.
Kenny Chesney, who played to a packed house in 2003, when he performed at Knoxville’s Neyland stadium, has since played in dozens of large arenas, including the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Mass. So when his good friend, Jason Aldean, was ready to perform in his home state of Georgia at the Bulldogs’ Sanford Stadium, he thought he's reach out with a few words of wisdom.
"He’s like, ‘Man, it’s gonna be a lot of stuff going on. Lot of craziness. Media, everything,’" Aldean recalls (quote via Country Weekly). "He’s like, ‘It’s gonna be hard to enjoy it just because it’s gonna be so crazy, but take it all in, because it’s gonna be a once-in-a-lifetime thing."
I would say that was some good advice. Jason's new concert DVD "Night Train To Georgia" will be released tomorrow, October 15th. Would be a great Christmas present for the Jason Aldean fan in your house.
Today is also a Free Music Monday with your chance to win the new Scotty McCreery CD, "See You Tonight" before it hits stores tomorrow. Just be sure to listen all day for your chance to win it courtesy of Porterville Collision Center.

Finally we hear from someone who knows what's going on with Randy Travis. In an interview yesterday with Nancy O'Dell about his friend Randy Travis, Billy Ray Cyrus says to keep praying for him. He said, "If you love Randy Travis, keep praying for Randy Travis," said Billy, who appears alongside Randy Travis in the new TV pilot "Evil Inclinations." A rep for Randy Travis told ET that he is off of life support and "currently in Texas in physical therapy and doing great!" Randy is expected to go home tomorrow, (Friday) Last time I talked about this I had heard but not confirmed he went back to Texas. So this confirms it!
Here is a sneak peek at his pilot. On the show, Billy Ray Cyrus plays a drug-addled Elvis-impersonator-turned-preacher, while Randy Travis plays a sheriff. Watch the clip for more.
Looks like they hit it out of the ballpark! Looking forward to seeing the show. I'll let you know when it airs!

We continue with our celebration of the music of Kenny Rogers on our KJUG Classic Cut of The Day. He now has a new album which reunites him with Dolly Parton, the title track with Dolly is called "You Can't Make Old Friends" Check out the video of the interview. This is his 65th studio album. That's pretty impressive.
The album is a collection of songs as diverse as this Kenny's career. No two of the 11 cuts could be placed neatly within the same sub-genre of country music. Intense displays of love, hope, anger and patriotism keep the listener pulled forward to hear what will come next. But it's Kenny and if you love that voice, you'll love the album. Today at 2:25 we continue with our KJUG Classic Cut of The Day by Kenny Rogers. You gotta listen to see what it is, but I guarantee it will be great! ~Rose
Don't forget we have our Drive Thru Lunch brought to you by Randy's Bistro in Porterville. Your chance to win lunch for two and we'll also take you requests and dedications.
I love hearing stories like this. Everyday, we can do something to make a difference. Martina McBride‘s nationwide volunteer group Team Martina has 27,000 reasons to celebrate. The group had a very lofty goal of raising $20,000 in four weeks to assist in building the Chastain Park Conservancy Playground in Atlanta, which would serve as a world-class park for children of all abilities and needs. It was a big goal, but the group not only reached it — they surpassed it by $7,000! Together, Team Martina raised $27,000, and McBride is beaming with pride over the accomplishment, since the space will be upgraded so that it can be utilized by thousands of kids! Right now, the park (which houses the only playground for miles where it’s located) is small in relation to the amount of people who visit each year. These funds will allow for expansion and for equipment that can be used for both older and disabled children, making it a space for everyone. Great job "Team Martina!" Makes me love her even more. Always a force for good!
Here's a quote off of Charlie Daniels Facebook page, No amount of house repair will fix a flawed foundation. Let's all make the day count. - Charlie Daniels (A bit of wisdom from the Fiddle Master himself.)
Please keep Hank Jr.'s Keyboard player Joey Huffman in your thoughts & prayers and give if you feel so inclined. I mentioned yesterday that he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Here is the link. click here.
I am writing this blog today on behalf of my friend in Georgia. She is a childhood buddy of Joey Huffman, who has been keyboard player for Hank Williams Jr.for the last 10 years. I have had the pleasure of chatting with him on FB as well. Very sweet and humble guy. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor and is going to need surgery and treatment to save his life. Here's the catch, he has no medical insurance. For a long time I was without health insurance, but mine will kick in sometime in December of this year. Most folks think hey, he works for Hank Jr., he's gotta be pulling down the big bucks. Not necessarily so. When you play a gig, you get a paycheck. He can't work right now because he's in a lot of pain and will need these funds to keep going. So I am asking you to search your heart and hit the link and give. Even if it's only $5 or $10 bucks. Every dollar counts.
Here's a video with Joey Huffman in action with Steven Tyler and Buddy Guy. When you hear that signature piano lick for "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight," that's Joey Huffman. When things like this happen, "You Find Out Who Your Friends Are." I posted Tracy Lawrence's song on Joey's page and told him we are fighting for him. Jug Country, lets' show him all the way from the South Valley here in California who his friends are! Please hit the link, share it with your friends on your social media and give, give, give! God Bless you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart! ~Rose
I have to tell you it has been very difficult trying to find out information about Randy Travis health condition, so I can bring you up to date. Last we heard, Sammy Kershaw had tweeted that Randy had caught pneumonia while in the rehab facility after leaving the hospital. The latest, I've heard is that he is back home in Texas. Can't say for sure how true this is, but I will continue to dig and find out what I can. But one thing we do know for sure is that he has an incredible new album out.. He recorded the tracks for Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am before his illness. The covers album honors some of Travis' musical heroes like Lefty Frizzell, Merle Haggard and George Jones and also features a duet with Joe Nichols on "Tonight I'm Playing Possum," a tribute to George Jones. But Merle Haggard is the most represented singer with 8 cuts influenced by or recorded by him at some point. Continue to keep Randy in your prayers and hopefully we'll be seeing him soon.
We continue today with our Drive Thru Lunch at noon and a chance for you to win lunch for two from Randy's Bistro in Porterville. Plus we'll take you requests and dedications.
And at 2:25 today, we wrap up our celebration of the 1980 movie soundtrack to Urban Cowboy with Johnny Lee's "Looking for Love" as our KJUG Classic Cut of The Day! Have an awesome Friday and a super weekend! Kindly keep it Country! ~Rose

Get Your Kleenex Ready! Kellie Pickler With An Emotional Performance on GMA Yesterday to Kick Off Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Ok everyone get your Kleenex ready! Kellie Pickler helped spread the message of early detection with an emotional performance of ‘Someone Somewhere Tonight’ on ‘Good Morning America‘ yesterday morning as she helped GMA kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Her husband Kyle Jacobs joined her on stage, while best friend and breast cancer survivor Summer Holt Miller watched from the audience. Last year you remember Kellie shaved her head in support of her BFF. ‘Someone Somewhere Tonight’ can be interpreted in so many ways, but there was little doubt that this version was meant for Kellie’s BFF Summer Miller. As she finished, Kellie’s voice cracked and then she broke down, running to hug her longtime friend. The two shared “I love you's” before the segment ended. Be looking for this song on Kellie Pickler’s upcoming album ‘The Woman I Am,’ which will be in stores Nov. 12th. Too see her performance, check out the video! ~Rose

Today is the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I am writing this in honor of my dear friend Mary O'Rourke Lozano, (Pictured in blue on the left) who sadly lost her two time battle with the disease. She was a wonderful wife, mom, grandmother and a dear friend. She was self checking in the shower when she discovered a pea sized lump. She immediately went into action to save her life. She was a huge advocate for those having to journey with this disease and how she managed on some days to keep going, I'll never know. This is to encourage all of you to self check and get your mammograms every year. Do something in your sphere of influence to make a difference and bring awareness to Breast Cancer. This is not a woman's disease, men can get it too. It does not affect only older woman, but younger ones too. Let's all stay pro-active. Click here to learn more about Breast Self Exams and screenings, from our friends at KSEE 24. We'll be talking to Stefani Booroojian, news anchor for KSEE 24, the woman who spearheaded this campaign many years ago to see how it's saved lives. ~Rose

Then at 2:25pm today we continue with our salute to the soundtrack of the Urban Cowboy with our KJUG Classic Cut of The Day.
What is the obsession with the movie Urban Cowboy? I posted that I was doing a tribute to the soundtrack with my KJUG Classic Cut of the Day and it blew up our Facebook page! That makes me happy. It just means that I struck a cord with you all. So what is it about the movie? Is it that it takes you back to a fun & good place in time? Is it the movie storyline, actors or music? Or is it all of the above. For me, it takes me back to a very cool time in my life and the soundtrack was pretty cool too. Love the music of Johnny Lee. It was also a time where John Travolta's career was on fire, just after Saturday Night Fever. It was a good time, I was in my 20's and having fun with my friends. So I'll just say it brings back memories of the good times. What is it for you? ~ Rose

Check out the clip of Trace Adkins in his new movie! He was cast as the lead role in a new Western film ‘The Virginian. No word on a date for release, but Trace looks right at home.
The movie, which stars George Canyon, Ron Perlman and Trace, has been remade a few times, but not with Trace until now. I can't wait to see it. He does a great job in the movie trailer.
In addition to making movies, Trace is also working on a Christmas album and tour is looking forward to hosting the American Country Awards with Danica Patrick, and just celebrated10 years as an Opry Member. You Don't Tug On Superman's Cape, You Don't Spit In The Wind & You Don't Steal Willie Nelson's Armadillo!
Some people are just plain disgusting, but just like Toby Keith sang, "I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again," this armadillo thief will be singing her own sad song when this is all said & done. First of all, you just don't steal. But more importantly, you don't steal from Willie Nelson!
There are plenty of clues & pictures, a lead on the suspect's name and her possible partner, and witnesses. Also gathering on the horizon: a posse of angry Willie Nelson fans and an big reward. Ol' Dillo as Willie Nelson calls him is a stuffed armadillo which has become a mascot for the band for the last 3 years and belongs to a member of Willie Nelson's stage crew. It was stolen after Nelson's Sept. 19 show.
According to the theater manager, he says, "We now are clear as to what the perpetrator looks like," he said. "We're going to close this thing up right and get that armadillo back to Mr. Nelson."

And today at 2:25pm we have another KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day.
'The drama is nonstop': Powerball winner 'Wild' Willie wants his old life back!
“Wild” Willie Seeley of Manahawkin, New Jersey, has one piece of advice for the winner of last week’s $400 million Powerball pot in South Carolina: Run. “Just disappear,” he said, speaking from his own experience. “Get lost while you still can.”
After Willie and 15 co-workers from Ocean County's vehicle maintenance garage shared part of an even bigger Powerball jackpot last month, $450 million, the "Ocean's 16" celebrated their win at a press conference where Willie stole the show with a long beard, tinted shades and a battered straw hat. “We are very happy, happy, happy,” he said to hoots and hollers from the crowd. “I’m going to continue to watch NASCAR races on Sunday. Maybe I’ll be at a log cabin on multiple acres of land.” Remember this guy now?
After his TODAY show appearance, a bunch of long-lost relatives, beggars and what felt like every reality TV producer in the country. “I pulled a .357 magnum on the last fellow who came walking up the driveway,” he said. That seemed to work, but the phone won’t stop ringing. National Geographic, A&E, Ryan Seacrest Productions — Seeley said he’s heard from them all.
“They put me in the National Enquirer, next to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. I mean I ain’t into all that.”
Knowing just a bit of what "Wild Willie" has been through, would you want your old life back or would you try to find a way to enjoy the cash and be quiet about it? I'd find a way to be quiet about it and change my phone numbers. LOL, just a thought. What would you do? ~Rose
Don't forget we have the Drive Thru Lunch at noon taking your requests and dedications plus a chance for you to win lunch for two from Hoagies Hero's in Porterville.

Joe Nichols is a sweetheart! Good times!
He hasn't recorded an album in 10 years, but his shows at the Wynn in Las Vegas all sell out. He's been semi retired for 10 years, taking the time off to raise his daughters. So now they're all grown. George Strait is about to retire from the road and I'm thinking it's time for Garth to saddle up and hit the dusty trail again. He has added some fall dates to his shows at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
Garth will return to the Wynn Las Vegas for a series of shows in the Encore Theater, starting in October. He has added the new dates after selling out a run of shows at the Wynn over the summer. If you're interested in going. Tickets for the upcoming Vegas dates are $175, plus a service charge and tax. All eight shows will go on sale at 10AM PST on Tuesday (Sept. 24). To purchase tickets, click here or call (702) 770-1000.

Carrie Underwood's New Role In The Sound Of Music. What are your thoughts about the remake of this movie musical?
First of all, Carrie Underwood is beautiful, hands down. But do you think they should have left "The Sound Of Music"alone and never remade it? My personal thought is that I tend to gravitate to the originals. The one with Julie Andrews is a masterpiece. But you have to admit, Carrie is a force to be reckoned with. I'm thinking because of her singing abilitites that she is going to knock it out of the ballpark. I've never seen her act, so this will be a first. I'm wishing her the best as she ventures into uncharted waters. I'm sure she'll do a great job. Be sure to watch it live on NBC, Thursday December 5th at 8pm. Carrie is going to be our Facebook Eye Candy today too.
We also have another chance for you to win lunch for two with the Drive Thru Lunch brought to you by Hoagies Hero's in Porterville.
And we continue our salute to the comical songs of country music with the KJUG Classic Cut of The Day. Today, it's Jerry Reed! Be listening at 2:25pm today.
This weekend was very relaxing, but the entire time I kept think about all the folks who can't because of the flooding in Colorado. I don't think we realized how bad it was, but instead of getting all caught up with all the celebrity news, I thought that I'd focus on these poor folks who are trying to find a way to put their lives back together. Rescue crews in Colorado, are mounting what is called the largest civilian helicopter mission since Hurricane Katrina, waited for clear weather today in hopes of reaching hundreds of people trapped by catastrophic floods.
“I’m hopeful that the vast majority of these people are safe and sound,” Gov. John Hickenlooper said on NBC’s TODAY. “But we do not have any illusions that there could well be more casualties. Read more

Nothing infuriates me more than someone who takes advantage of babies, the elderly and animals! Check out this story and how a family dog just may have saved a child's life.
Just so you know, when I heard about this story, I was so mad I was fuming. Who says animals don't know if people are crooked. I believe that they are sensitive if people are sad, sick or upset. So why wouldn't they be able to sniff out an abuser? This is such a great story about a family pet that would get very protective over this young baby boy whenever the babysitter would come in. Glad the parents paid attention to their dog, because it turned out that baby sitter was evil. Check out the video. Moral to this story, pay attention to what your pets are saying, even if it is meowing or barking! They are trying to tell you something. ~Rose
I'm a big race fan and nothing disappoints me more than cheating of any kind. So at Richmond everything was on the line as people were trying to get into the Chase which is the equivalent of Football's Post Season Playoffs. So now Nascar is investigating Gilliland and Logano for fixing the outcome of the race in Richmond this past Saturday. FOX Sports had learned of team radio communication with David Gilliland during Saturday night's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Richmond International Raceway that allegedly asks the driver to intentionally give up a position to help Joey Logano cement a spotin the Chase for Sprint Cup. The radio communication from the No. 38 team reveals that a voice on the radio, believed to be Gilliland crew chief Frank Kerr, tells the spotter to tell Logano's spotter that the track position "better pay big.
"We already know what happened to Michael Waltrip's team for drumming up a spinout towards the end of the race. This past Monday, NASCAR officials fined the Michael Waltrip Racing team $300,000 for manipulating the outcome of Saturday’s race.
According to ESPN, a late spinout and questionable pit stops led officials to speculate that Michael Waltrip Racing was somehow implicated in stopping Ryan Newman from making NASCAR’s version of the postseason. If a large fine wasn’t enough for Michael Waltrip Racing, NASCAR officials went further by taking Martin Truex Jr. — the driver who benefited from his team’s questionable antics — out of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Truex was replaced by Newman, according to ESPN. “We penalize to not have this happen again,” NASCAR President Mike Helton said to ESPN. “It’s a message from the league saying, ‘You can’t do this.’With that being said, what do you think should happen to Penske's Team for this little exchange on the radio's during the race to help Joey Logano get into the Chase? I think Logano should kicked out of the Chase and they replace him with someone else. And that they also get fined. What are your thoughts? Let the Chase begin! ~Rose

Hard to believe that 12 years have gone by since the attack on our country and the loss of innocent lives. I remember I was in the studio at my former job in Fresno. On the radio when my partner said, there's been a plane that has crashed into one of the twin towers. I thought that was odd, because knowing a little about flying, I realized that planes are off limits in that air space around the big buildings. I thought it must have been an accident, then thought, what if it was intentional? Only minutes later finding out it was a deliberate act of terrorism against our country, taking many innocent lives. It was meant for evil, but did their cowardly act accomplish anything at all? In my personal opinion, I don't think it did. Yes folks were scared at first, but once we realized that someone was trying to change the way we live and fracture our freedoms, we got angry. Someone asked me if I would stop flying because of what happened. I said absolutely not! I will not let a bully stop me from living my life the way I do. I continue to fly, but keep a watchful eye for anything odd. (yes, I'll jump outta my seat and open a can of whoop a$$ if I have to!) It's all about Freedom folks and the only place to find the liberties we enjoy each and every day is right here in our own country, the good ol' US of A! Many good men and women shed blood for us to enjoy those very liberties we enjoy today. And no act of terror can ever take that away! I believe what happened brought many of us together and I'm hoping as we commemorate the day that we are reminded once again that we are one big family, warts and all. Let's all do something good to seize the day and remember the lives lost and the families left behind. ~Rose

Vince Gill Get's Hassled by The Westboro Baptist Church & Confronts Them Outside His Concert Venue. My Take On It!
Just had to vent, when I saw the video I was so angry. Vince is the nicest guy with the biggest heart. A couple of days ago at one of Vince Gill's shows, Vince was confronted by the same group that spews hatred at our fallen soldiers funerals. They were accusing him of committing adultery. They are just trying so hard to entice him into an exchange with them. And you could tell he was angry. He went out to confront the group and told them he wanted to see what hatred looked like. What I want to know is instead of being accusers of the bretheran, (a term for Satan in the bible) why aren't they working and being more productive? Like visiting the elderly, feeding the hungry and homeless, or whatever else one could do to help people. I was always told to take the log out of my own eye so I could see to take the speck out of my brothers. I was told that Jesus was forgiving and covered our sins, whatever they were. These people are just a bunch of trouble makers and media pigs. They thrive on getting attention and stabbing people with their lies. Yes Vince uses some profanity in the video, he is clearly upset. He's human. If it were me, I don't know if I could use the amount of restraint Vince did. I could not put up with that kind of nonsense. As you know Vince is coming to visit JUG Country on November 1st. I say we give him a warm welcome. If trouble comes to our town, then they're asking for it. I'm going to have my bucket of rotten eggs and a bucket of flour and they're going to get what they got coming to them. Who's with me?
I have a family four pack of tickets to give away to the Tulare Fair today and I'll also have a chance for you to win Lunch for two from Kirkman's VIP Pizza in Exeter with the Drive Thru Lunch Question and we'll take your requests and dedications too.
Plus we'll continue our tribute to the group Alabama with your KJUG Classic Cut of The Day at 2:25pm
Good Monday morning! I came across this story yesterday when I was online at home. Thought it was so cute I had to share, especially if it makes you smile like it did me. Luke Bryan was performing and see this little girl named Kylee having a good time and brings her onstage. She was wearing a miniature cowgirl hat, boots and a plaid shirt and the crowd went crazy. Luke started singing ‘Someone Else Calling You Baby,’ and instead of him serenading her, Kylee sang to him. She danced and pumped her fist in the air — and it melted everyone's heart including Luke's! Afterward, even he admitted, “That’s the damndest thing I’ve ever seen.” Check out the video. It's sure to make you smile.
Be sure to join me for the Drive Thru Lunch, Brought to you by Kirkman's VIP Pizza in Exeter. We'll be taking your requests and dedications too.

Good To See I'm Not The Only One Who Has Locked Themselves Out Of The House, Even A Governor Has Done It!
I've done this a few times in my life. When you're a busy mom, it can happen. You can lock your self out of the car or house in the morning. Has this happened to you? It has happened to me and you get so mad at yourself. You can only hope the rest of your day doesn't go the same way. But when you're a Governor of a state, that's an entirely different story. South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley locked herself out of the Governor's Mansion Wednesday morning while wearing a robe. What I love is how she took it all in stride and posted it on her Facebook page. She posted, "What not to do." "Getting locked out of the Governor's mansion in your robe while sending the kids off to school. sigh..." She added the hashtag "#adayinthelife," Let's hope the rest of her day got better. I guess the moral of the story is that things are going to happen in your life. You can either let them get the best of you or you can laugh at it and keep going. I love her attitude. Have a great Friday!
Later on at 12pn we're going to take your requests and dedications as we kick off the Drive Thru Lunch and you'll have a chance to win lunch for two from Kirkman's VIP Pizza. The we continue our tribute to the great ladies of Country Music with our KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day with a song by the legendary Loretta Lynn. Be listening at 2:25pm.
Also just a little reminder for you to join me at the New Shannon Ranch Village A & W Grand Opening on Riggin & Mooney from 4pm to 6pm today. Enjoy some great food and win some cool prizes as well.
Now I've seen everything! This car is called The Armadillo. It's ugly like one! But the thing that intrigues me with this South Korean engineering is that it actually folds in half. It's very crowded there and they are always looking to develop more energy efficient and environmentally friendly cars, all while saving a little space. It's an electric car that can travel 100 km (62 miles) on a 10-minute charge and has a maximum speed of 60 km per hour (37 miles per hour). When it comes time to park, the rear of the vehicle folds over the front, almost halving its body length to just 1.65 meters (65 inches).
"They can be parked in every corner of the street and buildings, be it apartments, shopping malls or supermarkets," said a professor at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology who led development of the car. If you're a tall guy forget it, you'll never fit! And when it comes to parking, I don't care who you are or where you go. There's always some fool that will park too close for you to get in our out of your car. Or they'll leave a ding on your car door because they parked too close and dinged it when they got out of their car. I like the idea, but do you think it would work here in the U.S.? They still have a long way to go to develop it though. It hasn't passed crash test regulations there so it isn't on the road yet. But if it's a glimpse of things to come, it's pretty cool. Check out the video below.
We have a chance for you to win lunch for two coming up at 12 pm with the Drive Thru Lunch brought to you by Kirkman's VIP Pizza in Exeter and we'll take all your requests and dedications too.
Then coming up at 2:25pm it's our KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day. This week featuring one of the great ladies of Country Music. Today we celebrate the music of Tanya Tucker!
My doggies are happy and are always wagging their tails. But one day I noticed that Bella's tail was wagging up and down and not side to side like most dogs. Have you noticed which way your dog's tail wags? I just thought this was so strange that I did a video of it for you to see. It's hilarious! If your dog's tail wags north and south instead of east and west, let me know, because right now I think Bella is the only dog in the world who's tail is like that. Plus I had to introduce my babies to you too! ~Rose
We've got your Drive Thru Lunch with a chance for you to win lunch for two from Kirkman's VIP Pizza in Exeter and we'll be taking your requests and dedications as well. Then at 2:25pm it's your KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day with a suggestion for some Dolly today. Be listening to see what song it is.
Does it feel like time is flying by at warp speed that the clock is melting? Hahahah! The unofficial last day of summer is gone. We officially kick off Fall this month. According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac website, the autumnal equinox begins, Sunday, September 22, 2013 at 4:44 a.m. Next thing you know we'll celebrating the new year! I guess I brought this up because, we let time pass us by and don't always get the most living out of it. I got a lot done this past weekend. All three days were busy doing things I wanted to do. I spent some time with my grandson, which is always great. Hung out with my pups. They bring me so much happiness with their cute little ways. Got to spend time with my honey, which was fun. He always makes me laugh. And I got to take some pictures from the road which I always love to share.
One thing I did finally figure out is that I love photography and I am going to pursue a new interest and buy myself a new camera. I plan to take a few classes too. That's what I mean by living. Are you doing the things that make you happy? Ask yourself that question. If the answer is no, then it's time to make a few changes. Have a great day! Short work week and the plan is to pay tribute to some great women in Country Music with our KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day. Be listening at 2:25pm today for it as we celebrate Jeannie C Riley.
We also have your Drive Thru Lunch at Noon and a chance for you to win lunch for two from Kirkmans VIP Pizza in Exeter. Plus we'll take all of your requests and dedications too. Have a great Tuesday!

They say a picture paints a thousand words, so what do you think this one is saying? Hahahaha, I think fear, terror, exhileration and more as Brett Eldredge skydives for the first time. He and his band said when the song Don't Ya hit #1, that they would skydive. Brett who is not one to be a chicken, kept his word! Here's what he said about his jump. Oh, it was awesome, it was awesome," he said. "When you're up there, you can't see people, you can't see cars, you can't see buildings, hardly. You can see the state of Tennessee, it feels like.
"I didn't know what to do with my hands, so I was flying for a minute, then I put my hands together. I thought, 'I don't want to do anything wrong up here, I just want to fly. I want to do it right, get back on the ground and have a drink.' "
So what is Brett's next big adventure? He says "I don't know yet. I'm going to have a few drinks and figure that out."
Way to go Brett for keeping your word. ~Rose

Can you tell I'm irked this morning! All this stuff about Miley acting out, then I read that Alan Jackson's middle daughter is arrested for underage drinking and assault. She tells the officer that her daddy will do whatever she wants him to. Really?
I love Alan Jackson, but maybe it's time to stop the madness. This isn't the first time one of his children was arrested and I'm sure he isn't the only country star who's child has been in trouble. I think what I'm seeing here is a society that tends to spoil and enable our kids. For some they have everything handed to them and are constantly bailed out of their troubles with hardly even a smack on the hand. Life isn't that way. We aren't teaching them to be responsible or that there are consequences for bad behavior if we are constantly being a shield for our kids. I remember asking my son to take out the trash. He ignored me one too many times. I then put the bags of trash on his bed and in his closet. When he came back from soccer practice, he asked why the trash was on his bed. I said, well I figured you didn't dump it because you liked it, so I thought you would enjoy living with it in your room. From that point on, he always dumped the trash. He also got into trouble with the law when he was being foolish in college. I told him I'll help you only once. If you get in trouble again, you're on your own. Well he didn't listen, but learned a hard lesson that jail is not a fun place, especially since mom did not bail him out. He spent the night there! It's called tough love. My son has matured into a wonderful young man and has learned from his mistakes. Even though it was hard for me to say NO to him, I'm glad I did, because he learned. Maybe it's time for Alan Jackson to teach his girls a lesson if he wants them to outlive him. But that's between him and God. I'll send up a good word for them. As for me, I'll take care of my own back yard! God Bless ya'll and I hope my rant helped you in some way. ~Rose

I saw this story on the news yesterday which was wonderful. But the thing that bothered me was what has taken so long for this veteran to receive his medals? Ken Abrahamian now has a chest full of medals. Pinned on by Retired Marine Warrant Officer Dan Payne.
The now 90 year old Navy Veteran served in the Pacific during World War II was given the medals he never received, along with the good conduct there were four others, including the Philippine Liberation Medal, the World War II Victory Medal. For the rest of the story, click here
I am really bothered that these wonderful men who served this our country have to write years later for medals they earned and deserve. We need to come up with a system where this doesn't happen again. I can't help but be bothered by that. #justventing
One way we can do something to honor the greatest generation is to donate to Honor Flight Central Valley. Our Central Valley chapter is currently raising funds to a charter planes that will send our veterans to Washington D.C. in commemoration of their sacrifice, and in honor of their service to our country. One hundred percent of all donations go toward funding these flights. Please join us in giving back to those who gave it all so that we could be free.
My dad is a Korean War Vet. and this stuff reallly means alot to me. Let's all do what we can to honor those who've made a contribution to our freedoms. Whenever you can, thank a Vet! ~Rose

I drive quite a distance to get to work every day, and I try to look at the silver lining to all that driving. If you're a a friend of mine on FB, then you know how much I like scenic pictures. Sunrise's and Sunsets. The pictures posted above are shots I took on the way to work this morning. For me, that's God's way of reminding me He's there. I always refer to these scenes in the sky as God's handiwork. The funny thing is what the eye see's and what the camera captures is not the same. While the picture is beautiful, it's still no where near as beautiful as what I saw. You can never quite capture that beauty in a picture. I guess that's my little gift from God to make my day. Happy to share them with you. More to come, just visit my blog page every day! ~Rose

I spent most of the weekend sorting through stuff I don't need anymore. Funny how much junk one can accumulate over the years. After I got all my chores done, I spent a little time looking for Classic Cuts to play for you this week. It's definately one of my favorite parts of the day. I hope you enjoy these gems as well. Below is a picture of Johnny Cash playing live at Folsom Prison back in the 60's. I thought it would be a great one to kick off our week with. ~Rose
Our KJUG Classic Cut Of The Day Artist was a singer-songwriter, actor, and author who was considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. Although he is primarily remembered as a country icon, his songs and sound spanned other genres including rock and roll and rockabilly —especially early in his career—and blues, folk, and gospel. He is also known as the Man in Black.
He felt great compassion for prisoners & performed concerts at various prisons starting in the late 1950s. His first prison concert was held on January 1, 1958, at San Quentin State Prison. These performances led to a pair of highly successful live albums, Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison (1968) and Johnny Cash at San Quentin (1969).
The Folsom Prison record was introduced by a rendition of his classic "Folsom Prison Blues", while the San Quentin record included the crossover hit single "A Boy Named Sue". From the live album Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, our KJUG Classic Cut of the day is Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash on 1067 KJUG Country.Be sure to listen for it at 2:25pm today.

Good Thursday morning to you! I was reading some news this morning and came across this story which is one of the reasons I love country music so much. First of all the music tells a story that touches people. Second, the artists for the most part are all caring and wonderful folks. They will use their sphere of influence to help others or a cause that is near and dear to their hearts. This is the case with Carrie Underwood. She has been working with "Make A Wish" for years and has made many people's wishes come true who are in the midst of a battle for their life or have survived the odds of a catastrophic illness. Carrie invited Kaitlyn Finn, an amazing 10-year-old to join her on stage to sing. Kaitlyn has been through so much at her young age. She was diagnosed with liver cancer at age 3, received a transplant and is now in remission. Sure, she was nervous about taking the stage, but the excitement helped her overcome any nerves. She said “I like to sing and Carrie Underwood is one of my favorite singers. I’m excited!”
Be sure to join me today from 10 am to 3pm. At noon, I'll take your requests and dedications on our Facebook page. You can also tweet them to me @roseortega Drive thru Lunch brought to you by our friends at Hoagies Hero's in Porterville. (Their food is to die for!)
Plus I'll add a name to the guest list for the Kellie Pickler show at Crawdaddy's on Sunday, September 1st. And then one of my favorite parts of my day, we get to go back a few years and play a KJUG Classic Cut of the Day. If there's a cool Classic song you want to hear, e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Have a great Friday Eve! ~Rose
I know everyday it is my job to entertain and keep you company while you work, but sometimes I do get serious about things that get under my skin. Today, I have to get this off my chest because this officer is from right where we live here in JUG Country.
I didn't know the young officer Jesus Manuel Magdaleno Jr. of Visalia, but I have to say the story of what happened to him & his brother in law really saddens me. Both young men around my son's age. Magdaleno about to be married in September. They were in Las Vegas for his bachelor party. He and his brother-in-law are being sent back here to Visalia, after they were both killed trying to stop the theft of the officer's pickup truck from a Las Vegas Strip hotel-casino.Veteran CHP Officer Jesus Manuel Magdaleno Jr., 33 pictured above, was killed in the Sunday morning wreck and his sister's husband, Felix Brandon Cruz III, 31, was pronounced dead Monday evening at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.
We hear so much about stars and their troubles every day, but I thought it was important to take the time to pay my respects to the fallen officer and his brother in law as well as their families and friends. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you and I pray you find the comfort you need as you each walk this journey of loss in your lives. God Bless you all from your friends here at 1067 KJUG Country.

Las Vegas law enforcement and rescue vehicles on Monday took part in a solemn procession in Las Vegas for CHP officer Jesus Manuel Magdaleno Jr.
My drive to work yesterday looked like this. But last night was a strange turn of events. Unbelievable lightning and thunder. Many folks here in the South Valley without power. The funny thing is where I live, we got a huge downpour and maybe less than a mile away, my neighbor had no rain.Very strange. We had record breaking temperatures in Fresno as well.
Below is a double lightning strike in Visalia
I wonder if this was what turned all the power off for a while. Glad everyone is safe and sound today and the lights and air conditioning are back on. Everyone have a great day and don't forget we have lots going on today.
Drive thru Lunch window opens at 12pm. Brought to you by Hoagies Hero's. Your chance to win lunch for two and I'm also taking your requests and dedications.
Then later at 2:25pm today, we have the KJUG Classic Cut of The Day. Today's artist is Mark Chestnutt. Listen to hear what song I'll play.
Well, how's everyone this fine morning? Back for another week of fun and don't forget it's a Free Music Monday! Be listening all day for your chance to win the new Charlie Worsham CD before it hits stores tomorrow. I had a great weekend. We went up to the bay area to see our grandson. The visit definately too short. But nice nevertheless. Jake has gained a few pounds and is now 2 months old. Looking forward to all the fun times ahead with this little guy. The cool thing about babies is that everything you do with them are milestones. Like the first smiles at grandma and grandpa. He smiled at grandpa and it melted his heart. Here's a picture of me with Jacob.
This post on my page is another milestone, it's Jacob's first of many appearances on my page. Such a great feeling ot be a grandparent. Have a great day.
Coming up at 12pm we have the Drive Thru Lunch taking all your requests and dedications plus you'll also have a chance to win lunch for two from Hoagies Hero's in Porterville.
KJUG CLASSIC CUT OF THE DAY TODAY
2:25pm TODAY - OUR KJUG Classic Cut of the Day. Our artist was born August 11, 1946, on a tobacco farm in Versailles, Kentucky By the age of 10, he started singing and playing guitar, and later sang tenor in a barbershop quartet. He did not take up a musical career right away, instead becoming a licensed mortician and later a disc jockey at a radio station. By 1971, he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in pursuit of a musical career, signing to ABC Records in 1976. He charted for the first time in 1978 with our KJUG Classic Cut of The Day. It’s Rose Colored Glasses, by John Conlee on 1067 KJUG Country.

Welcome to my page on this beautiful thursday morning. As we all know, Brad Paisley is a major prankster. And when the Henningsens came to town for their concert at Exeter City Park last Friday August 9th, I was talking to Clara about their being part of Brad Paisley’s tour with Lee Brice. I then asked her if Brad had pranked them and she said no not yet. I told her you need to get him before he gets you. She laughed and thought it was a good idea. Well they pranked Brad Paisley and I have the video to prove it. They got him good too, all dressed in Star Wars costumes. Lee Brice dressed as a man eating shark. When Brad will get revenge or not, one never knows, but I can guarantee you he will. They all better watch their backs. Very funny video check it out

Last night I was in my studio at home working on a few things and was listening to some Classic songs for Classic Cut of the Day. I have to admit, this has been one of the highlights of my day being able to bring these gems to you at 2:25pm. I don't know if this happens to you or not, but when I listen to these cuts, it brings back a flood of great memories. I think that's why God created music. The cut I was listening to was Ronnie Milsap's "She Keeps The Home Fires Burning." It brings back some cool memories of the early days of my broadcast career. So I thought I'd choose it as today's KJUG Classic Cut of The Day. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for listening every day and making my job so much fun! Have a great Wednesday! Ok HUMPDAY! There, I said it! LOL! ~Rose

The photo above was taken during a visit to Northern California to my sister's house yesterday. We were all getting together to celebrate birthdays and to see my brother and his adorable family who are getting ready to relocate out of state. Excited because my brother is an avid hunter, fisherman and country boy in general! He just bought this cool farm that I'm looking forward to visiting soon. I hope he doesn't make me work too hard when I visit him. LOL! Enjoy your family and your lives. Never take anything for granted. As you can tell this is what my family is all about. Do we fight with each other, yeah sometimes. But we really do love each other and we have a blast when we're together. Have a great day.
Don't forget it's Free Music Monday and you're going to get a chance to win the new Luke Bryan CD before you can buy it tomorrow. Be listening all day to win it!
