Every now and then I get very cool clips from Adam and I just have to share them. Being a teenager in the 70's when I hear a new artist cover one of our beloved songs, I always wonder if they can do the song justice. This is one of those times where someone does and that someone is Charlie Worsham! This is what he calls a Cover Challenge where he covers a song that's been done before. It was cut in 24 hours and it the Steve Miller Band's Jet Airliner. Now the first time I saw him, he was wearing his signature orange Converse high tops and playing Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy Train" on a banjo! I was pretty impressed. Check this out and tell me what you think.

2:25 Time for our KJUG Classic Cut of the Day
It’s a Christian song written in 1912 by evangelist and song-leader George Bennard (1873-1958). He was a native of Youngstown, Ohio but was raised in Iowa. After his conversion in a Salvation Army meeting, he and his wife became brigade leaders before leaving the organization for the Methodist Church. As an evangelist, he wrote the first verse of our song in Albion, Michigan, in the fall of 1912 as a response to ridicule which he received at a revival meeting. He then traveled with Ed E. Mieras from Chicago to Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin where they held church meetings at the Friends Church from December 29, 1912 to January 12, 1913. During the meetings Rev. George Bennard finished the song. Our song today is from Precious Memories, the twelfth studio album released in February of 2006. It was an album that Alan Jackson recorded for his mom that was never meant for release. It became his eighth #1 country album. Last night's Blood Moon! I stayed up for it and yes I'm tired.
But the upside is I already did my taxes!
So how many of you stayed up to see it? "The most unique thing about the 2014-2015 tetrad is that all of them are visible for all or parts of the USA," according to a Nasa spokesman.
The full eclipse is known as a "blood moon" because, NASA explains, the sunset red glow that rings the Earth as it blocks the light from the sun is cast upon the moon.
The first one in this tetrad began at 2 a.m. ET today. The other dates are Oct. 8, April 4, 2015, and Sept. 28, 2015. So mark those dates on your calendar.
Today is tax day! As well as the 1 year Anniversary of the Boston Marathon bombings. Many of the victims were there at the site where it all happened at the finish line.

Congratulations to #JUGFEST2014 Headliner & ACM 2014 "New Artist of the Year," Justin Moore and his Big Machine record label president, Scott Borchetta. The Armed Forces Foundation has named them Humanitarians of the Year for their support of military families with a variety of activities including Crown Royal’s “Your Hero’s Name Here.”
Justin said, “Although extremely grateful, I feel a little uncomfortable being honored at an event where there are decorated war heroes present. I feel that my contributions are much less significant than theirs. They are the true American heroes.” Justin credits his family, which included two grandfathers who served in the military, for instilling his admiration for the armed services. Looking forward to seeing him at Plaza Park on May 31st.

Enjoy, it's pretty cool. Don't forget there is new music by Johnny Cash music out now and debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country Charts last week. These are recordings that were found after Johnny Cash passed away at his estate. ‘Out Among the Stars,’ which landed at No. 3 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart as well, is an album that Johnny Cash recorded with Billy Sherrill in the early ’80s, while still signed to Columbia Records. The Man in Black was dropped from the label before the album was released. So now we get to hear it. HIs son John Carter Cash says there may be more music released in the future. In 1969, the original recording was released as a single itself, with sound effects dubbed in to simulate the sound of a live recording. This re-release went to #23 on the country charts. On the all-star album Working Man’s Poet: A Tribute to Merle Haggard, artists like Jason Aldean, Jake Owen, Joe Nichols, Thompson Square and Randy Houser take turns covering some of the legendary Merle Haggard’s greatest songs. Broken Bow Records Founder, Benny Brown wanted to produce a tribute album honoring his good friend Merle Haggard. There is a hand written note to Benny inside the album. Also Merle's son Ben is named after Benny Brown. So their friendship goes back many years. If you ask Ben Haggard, (Merle’s 21-year-old son who plays guitar alongside his dad on tour )about what song stood out on the album, Ben would say: Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley’s take on “Pancho and Lefty,” the hit 1983 duet that Merle recorded with Willie Nelson. I’ve listened to it and think it’s amazing. I also love Joe Nichols version of Footlights. If you were at the last KJUG Free Summer Concert Series Show, then you heard it. I knew it was going to be on Joe’s new album and when I saw him I asked him to play it. It’s a wonderful version of the song. Garth’s version of “Tonight, The Bottle Let Me Down,” and Jason Aldean’s version of “Going Where The Lonely Go” & “Are The Good Times Really Over For Good,” plus Ben Haggard did a great job on “Mama Tried” and “Sing Me Back Home.” I’ve never heard Ben sing so that was special. But I will say he sure can pick that guitar! Of course, all of the songs are perfectly written by Merle and tastefully done. Here’s the track listing:

2:25pm KJUG Classic Cut of the Day Since we've been talking about Merle today, this day in 1982, Merle's song Big City made it to #1 on the Billboard Country charts. We'll make that our KJUG Classic Cut of the day. The song was inspired by a remark by Dean Holloway, Merle's lifelong friend and tour bus driver. At the end of a packed two-day recording session at Britannia Studios in Los Angeles, Haggard went to the bus to check on Holloway, who had been minding the bus, and asked him how we was doing. Holloway responded, "I hate this place. I'm tired of this dirty old city." Haggard immediately saw inspiration, and began writing the song, based on Holloway's remark, on a nearby pad of paper. "I'm tired of this dirty old city" became the song's first line. Haggard decided that the chorus should include the narrator talked about moving elsewhere, and asked Holloway where he would rather be, to which Holloway responded, "If it were up to me, it'd be somewhere in the middle of damn Montana." "Somewhere in the middle of Montana" became part of the chorus. Haggard rushed back into the studio, where the band was packing up, and told them to unpack their instruments in order to record one last song; the band recorded the song in one take, with no rehearsal.
Haggard credited Holloway as a co-writer, entitling him to half the royalties for the song, which amounted to around half a million dollars for Holloway.
Can't tell you how happy I am for Justin Moore. Just a few short months ago, I had an interview with Charlie Daniels and I asked him about up and coming artists. He said everything sounds the same to him, but then there's Justin Moore. He says when he hears a Justin Moore song, it gets his attention. Charlie Daniels has been a huge advocate for Justin who has been in country music for the last 6 years trying to make a name for himself. I think he's done just that. So we're all looking forward to seeing him at #JUGFEST2014

I saw this story on Facebook and was moved t do something. Please understand I try to help as many as I can and there are so many in our community that need our help. I get many e-mails and facebook messages all the time. But this one stuck out to me. An Exeter mom is fighting for her life. She needs a #heart transplant and has to prove that she can pay for her post operation medicine before she can be put back on the transplant list. KMPH 26 did a story on her. Check out the video of her story.

I found out in May 2013 that I have heart failure. My heart is too large and too weak. At the age of 33, I am taking medications my grandmother took in her 80's. I have been told that a heart transplant is my only option left. I am a mother of 3 wonderful children. My 2 sons were both born at 26 weeks. Doctors wanted me to terminate my pregnancies due to possible deformities and left my babies with zero chance of survival. I fought along side my little guys and never gave up faith and today I have a healthy and happy 7year old and 4 year old. God has blessed me with these miracles and I pray he blesses me with another. My babies are my world. They never gave up on me and now it's my turn to not give up on them. I have medical insurance which covers 100% of the transfer itself but only covers 80% of my medications. That doesn't sound like too much on my part, but my 20% for one of the post transplant medications will run me $1300 per month. I have been denied AS I due to my husband's income. I need Medi-cal as a back-up and proof that even without it I will be able to pay for my medications. Without proof, a transplant will not be approved. My cardiologist said I don't have 2-3 years to wait. I need help now. I am not ready to die, but if I do, it will not be without a fight. Game on. ~

This last weekend I went to Northern California and visited my brother and sister in law and my new nephew Josiah. My brothers 5th child. This is the first time I actually met him.
Had some selfie fun with my sister and nieces.
Craziness and fun with my cute little nieces. We all had such a great visit. I don't get to see them very often because they live in another state, so when they visit California, we converge on my sisters and we all hang out there at her house. These days are so few and far between and I cherish every moment with them. So there you have it. Me with my family. As you can see, we like to have fun and laugh.
Another thing I love is racing. Today we get to talk to the reigning Indy Car Series Champion, Scott Dixon, he's getting ready to race in the Streets of St. Petersburg, FL this coming Sunday and at the Long Beach Grand Prix on April 13th. We'll find out how he got his start and what's next for him today.

A second country music version was released on Conway Twitty's 1972 album. There was also a version titled "He's All I Got" that was on Tanya Tucker's 1972 album Delta Dawn. It's great to be back! I visited St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Memphis and the birth place of the blues!
My trip was really a working vacation. My friend has a heritage blues station in Clarksdale Mississippi and he had invited me to see St. Jude and help him with their Radiothon for St. Jude. It was their first ever! I went to take in the sites and sounds of the Mississippi Delta as well as Memphis TN at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Someone was quoted as saying that when you step onto the grounds it's like walking on holy ground. I would tend to agree. It was everything and more. Incredible work is being done to find a cure for pediatric cancers and I believe St. Jude will find it. But it's going to take all of us working together to make that happen. First, thanks to all of you who gave during our JUG radiothon. It was incredible. We just have to keep marching forward to help find a cure. We still have a ways to go.

I was made aware of this cute little star, Karyssa Rumsey a student at Golden Oak Elementary in Visalia by her aunt Laura Bennett, who posted a shout out on our Facebook page. I also received a call from her dad Ryan, who's so proud of his baby girl. She's only 10 years old. She attended the Tryouts at Hanford Mall for the National Anthem Tryouts For the Fresno Grizzles 2014 Season. They just received the call that she made it and will have the honor of singing the National Anthem at the Fresno Grizzlies home game on June 2nd. Check out her audition! Great job Karyssa! I have to talk about my driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. Congratulations to #88 and Hendrick Motorsports for winning the 2014 Daytona 500. I was losing it while watching the race. I had to cover my eyes while my honey gave me the play by play. When it was all said and done, Jr. won. I practically cried tears of joy. It's been 5 years since he's won a race. If you're going to win one, this is the one to win.
The memorial service for Officers Juan Gonzalez and Brian Law will be at the Save Mart Center, near Fresno State. The service will begin at 10:00 a.m., but organizers are encouraging people to arrive by 9:00 a.m. to help accommodate the fellow officers that will be attending. This could mean major delays along Shaw Avenue and Highway 168, as classes begin for the day at the university. Once the memorial is over, graveside services for Officer Law will take place in Clovis. The procession will go eastbound on Shaw Avenue to Villa Avenue. It's expected to begin around 11:30 a.m., and may tie-up traffic along
Eastbound Shaw. Once Officer Law's service is over, the procession will travel to Tulare for graveside services for Officer Gonzalez. The procession is expected to leave Clovis around 1:30 p.m. It will head down highways 168, 41, and 99. The procession will exit Oaks Street, then westbound on Cartmill and north on J Street. It will end at North Tulare Public Cemetery on J Street, just south of Highway 99.

Was a great night of celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. I was 6 years old and I remember exactly where I was when they appeared. I was in our living room on Sunday night in front of the television watching their first appearance. After hearing "I Want To Hold Your Hand," I was never the same. It was just as it was 50 years ago. Only this time I was in my own home sitting, standing, clapping, dancing, laughing and crying. Was a great trip down memory lane. We saw country artists who were influenced to rockers and R & B artists. All performing timeless classics by the Beatles. I was especially proud of Country Music's representation there for the big night. It was very special.
This is Pharrell Williams and Brad Paisley performed "Here Comes The Sun" and did an outstanding job. There were so many amazing highlights, Stevie Wonder sang "We Can Work It Out." Then there was Keith Urban and John Mayer sing "Don't Let Me Down."
And of course the moment everyone was waiting for. When Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr performed together. Was very special to hear them sing "A Little Help From My Friends." #beatles50
What was your favorite part of the night? I have no criticism whatsoever about this show. It was tastefully done and brought back so many great memories. Hard to have a favorite Beatles song, because with every song played, I knew every word and loved every song. Woke up feeling happy. I guess that's what music does. It's a gift from God! Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Cash Shank of Visalia, The little 6 year old boy who fought a very brave battle with brain cancer. His parents Rob and Megan Shank & his brother Wyatt and sister Graycee are all very proud of Cash and wish to thank everyone in JUG Country and throughout the community for their kindness, love and support. He was a sweet and bright light in our lives and will never be forgotten. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that you make a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Cash’s honor. Did anyone see the finale of The Biggest Loser last night? I love watching as the contestants go through their individual transformations to a much healthier person. Former American Idol singer who had ballooned to a whopping weight of 462 pounds, lost 25% of his body fat. He now weighs 343 pounds. Total weight loss of 119 pounds. He looks great. I mean after all he is a very tall person. But the one transformation that startled me was of contestant & winner, Rachel Fredrickson who started her journey on Biggest Loser weighing 260 pounds. She went on to lose 155 pounds and is now weighing 105 pounds. She lost 60 percent of her body weight. That's an entire person! Her efforts made her $250,000 richer. After seeing her, Jillian mouthed, "Oh my God!" That's exactly what I said and was about to toss a cheeseburger through the screen of my flat screen to save the girl.
I applaud all of her hard work, but when is enough, enough? They say the camera adds 15 pounds and she still looked like she lost way too much weight. I felt she didn't look healthy. What are your thoughts? Apparently I wasn't the only one who felt this way, because many folks took to twitter and Facebook to talk about her dramatic weight loss. If you’re anything like me then you love the Olympics. Doesn’t matter if it’s winter or summer, you just love to watch it. These young folks work very hard and put their bodies through such rigorous training. Only to have to wait for 4 years to compete on the world stage to bring the coveted Gold Medal home to the US and to their hometowns. The opening ceremony for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia will take place Friday, Feb. 7 at Fisht Olympic Stadium. NBC, 7:30 p.m. ET
One of my favorite winter sports is figure skating, slalom, ski jumping and snowboarding. The one person I will be watching for is, of course Shaun White. Everyone used to call him the Flying Tomato, because he was a red head flying through the air and doing things in snowboarding that have never been done before. Brad Paisley & Keith Urban hit the stage for performances at The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to The Beatles on Monday (Jan. 27). The show was taped live and is going to air on Feb. 9, which is the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ performance on ‘The Ed Sullivan Show,’ the night that made the Beatles a household name in. Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr attended the show and that meant the pressure was on for all of the night’s performers. Keith Urban teamed up with John Mayer for a version of ‘Don’t Let Me Down,’ and Brad Paisley and Pharrell Williams joined forces for ‘Here Comes the Sun.’
“We are honoring the most important band of all time, and trying to do justice to their song while two of them sit there,” Paisley said in an interview before his performance (quote via the Tennessean). “We know, going in, we’re not going to sing like them, and we’re going to try to do our own thing with it. But … there’s reasons why people get blasted when they cover Beatles songs in any situation. But here we are, doing that tonight. So, I guess it’s an even playing field in that sense.”
Other artists who performed at the event include John Legend, Alicia Keys, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Dave Grohl and Stevie Wonder. Starr and McCartney also performed, but McCartney was unsure about the event when the idea was introduced.
“What can I say about this evening, it’s just amazing,” he says. “At first when I was asked to do the show, I was wondering if it was the right thing to do. Was it seemly to tribute yourself? But I saw a couple of American guys who said to me, ‘You don’t understand the impact of that appearance on the show on America.’ I didn’t realize that.”
The telecast airs Feb. 9 at 8PM ET on CBS. While only two Beatles are able to celebrate their landmark appearance on ‘Ed Sullivan,’ the late John Lennon and George Harrison had their presence felt.
“We were in a band. It’s called the Beatles,” Starr said near the end of the show. “And if we play, John and George are always with us. It’s always John, Paul, George and Ringo.”

You may have heard that there was a streaker at the Pro-Bowl game, and like most of them they are just trying to gain some national attention for themselves. But that isn't the case for this young lady who streaked for her cousin who was paralyzed from a motorcycle accident and cannot speak. His dream was always to attend the Pro-Bowl game. The streaker was a 23-year-old woman named Katrina Torres who decided to jump into action at the right time, right after a touchdown and ran across the field. The police immediately came and were going to arrest her, but when Deion Sanders found out why she did it, he said, "that's cool, don't arrest her." "If you do, I'm just going to bail her out." So she wasn't arrested. I love my family, but would I streak to cheer em up? Not so sure. Would you? Comment below

The song spent eighteen weeks on the Hot Country Singles charts, peaking at #2 and holding that peak for five weeks. Look at these handsome rascals! Willie, Merle and Kris Kristofferson are working on a project together. That's the good news that came out of the Grammy's! When asked in a Grammy red carpet interview, Willie said "it will be out as soon as we can get it together."
They do have shared histories, but the three have never collaborated on the same record, as far as we can tell. Nelson is the common thread, having worked with Kristofferson in The Highwaymen and with Haggard on 1983's chart-topping "Pancho & Lefty." There have been plenty of other projects over the years, but doesn't look like Kris Kristofferson and Merle Haggard have ever recorded together.
Meanwhile, asked about a new law in Colorado allowing the sale of recreational marijuana, well you know who piped in first, (No pun intended!) Willie said, "It's just a matter of time till the whole country will wake up and realize that this is where we're going and get ready for it." See interview below.

2:25 KJUG Classic Cut of The Day where we pay tribute to Waylon Jennings who is so outlaw in this picture that he was actually smoking a cigarette when meeting First Lady Mrs. Carter.
We all know what an incredible singer and songwriter Kenny Chesney is, but he is also a very shrewd businessman. And he is very protective of his proprietary investments such as logo’s, merchandising copyrights etc. Kenny owns the trademark for a logo which features a guitar leaning against a palm tree — a clear tribute to his love of island living. Kenny Chesney contracted with licensing company Latitude to use his name and logo to sell merchandise, and was supposed to have final approval of any agreements between Latitude and other companies, but that’s not how it panned out.
A company called T&M Enterprises began producing merchandise and gear with Chesney’s logo, but without permission, according to the lawsuit, the Tennessean reports.
Chesney told the company to put an end to the production of merchandise, and the two reached a settlement agreement in January 2013 that would allow T&M to sell the rest of its items. However, instead of abiding by the agreement, the company continued to sell the merchandise.
So Kenny has filed a copyright lawsuit in federal court this week. “Under the terms of the settlement agreement, defendant T&M agreed to stop using the Chesney (intellectual property) in connection with the manufacture, sale, advertising and promotion of its goods worldwide,” the lawsuit states. With that said, it’s clear you don’t mess with Kenny or any of his intellectual property.

Ok here's the bad news first. NASCAR announced significant changes to the structure of qualifying for its three national series on Wednesday. The new standard qualifying format will now include knockout qualifying, similar to the type of qualifying in place in Formula 1 and on IndyCar road courses. At tracks over 1.25 miles in length, all drivers will have the opportunity to take to the track in a 25-minute qualifying session. The fastest 24 cars will then move on to an open 10-minute qualifying session. The 12 fastest cars from the second session will then qualify for five minutes. The winner of that session will be the polesitter.
At all tracks less than 1.25 miles, there is no middle round. All entrants will have the opportunity to qualify for 30 minutes and the fastest 12 drivers will have 10 minutes to see who can post the fastest speed.
The qualifying procedures will be in use at all NASCAR points races in the Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series with the exception of the Daytona 500 and the Truck race at Eldora. The changes mean that for most NASCAR races, qualifying will fit neatly into a one-hour television window. And, as the sanctioning body hopes, that one hour of viewing will be much more compelling than previous qualifying broadcasts. Brad Keselowski tweeted “New qualifying rules for @NASCAR 2014 season should really mix it up. I expect a lot more actions for fans and even more games from Teams.”

Year will perform during the Daytona 500 Budweiser Pre-Race Show on Feb.

Just saw this article in Taste of Country and this photo of Randy Travis. He looks like he's on the mend. He's alert and smiling, although he may be having mobility issues after the stroke he suffered last summer. This recent picture shows Randy in what appears to be a wheelchair with his fiancee Mary Beougher and two others behind him. The young man looks like his fiancee's son, Raleigh. It's not clear where the picture came from, but it was spotted on Anthony Maurizio’s Twitter page on Sunday (Jan. 19) and has since been published by various media with a wide range of details. According to Nashville Gab, Maurizio is a family friend of Randy Travis. For more on this story, click here. Glad to see he's doing better.

Last night was fun watching American Idol. I think it's going to be much more fun with Harry Connick Jr. He and Keith Urban have great chemistry and have been fun to watch. Jennifer Lopez is clearly the big star here. All of the contestants have been asking for her and cannot wait to audition so they can meet her. Harry is a little playfully jealous until a contestant came in and said he was a big fan of Harry's and was told by Harry if he kills it in his audition that he would cradle him. As you can see by the picture, he killed it! And Harry being a man of his word did as he said he would do.
Later in the show Keith found out his new album "Fuse" went #1, so Harry even cradled Keith! I think this season is going to be a blast.
Trace Adkins has checked himself into rehab following a scuffle with a Trace Adkins look alike Karaoke singer at the bar of the "Best Country Cruise Ever," where Trace was a headlining artist. He has confessed to problems with alcohol in the past and says it's cost him a couple of failed marriages and almost his life. So following the fight, he left the ship in Jamaica and checked himself into rehab. This may be a breach of contract issue depending on the terms of his contract with the promoter. Here's hoping he can pull it together soon. Our best wishes and prayers going out to the big guy for sobriety and some sense of normal. It takes a big person to admit they have a problem and get help, so at least he's on the right track. #prayfortrace

The episode is entitled “Big In the Philippines.” Charlie plays a character named Colin Haynes, a struggling Country singer who hasn’t yet made it in the US, but is, you guessed it, “Big In the Philippines.” The plot is centered around Charlie’s character’s murder and the subsequent surprise story line that surrounds it – it’s a good one, and you’ll have to tune in to see what happens!

He's here! It's my new nephew Josiah Jess Ortega. He entered the world healthy and about the size of a three month old baby. He weighed in at a whopping 11 pounds and is in great health. Mom is doing fine and in great care. This is my brother Jay and his wife Carolyn's 5th child. Josiah has three sisters, Cheyanne, Shawnee, Atsina and a brother Javier Paul. We call him JP. My brother is extremely happy and so is my sister in law. The rest of us are over the moon. Got to plan a trip to see him and the kids soon.

Jason Aldean Made His BIg Announcement on GMA this Morning. He's Launching 2014 Tour With Florida Georgia Line, Tyler Farr
Here is Jason Aldean performing on Good Morning America, this morning. Well many of you guessed it. It's a stadium tour in 2014 with his buddies Florida Georgia Line and Tyler Farr. The Burn It Down Tour kicks off this spring and summer, stopping in nearly 50 cities and playing multiple baseball stadiums. All of the clues led up to what he was doing and where he will be. The Screech clue threw me off, but the actor that plays him, Dustin Diamond, represented baseball diamonds. Makes sense right? Pirate flag probably represents Pittsburg Pirates Stadium. That's what I'm thinking, but we'll find out later this morning because Jason Aldean is expected to make another announcement at MLB.com at 2:30PM ET today. He’s partnered with Major League Baseball for the tour.

We're All Being Distracted With The Bachelor, American Idol, Facebook, Candy Crush & More. Meanwhile We Got Big Water Problems!
There is no statement and photo that speaks as loud as this does, especially for our valley. If you remember the water crisis of 2008/2009, many farmers had water allotments cut off, even though many of them had paid. If we don't get some rain here in the next few months' we're going to be in worst shape than we were back then. Farmers have been dealing with horrible bureaucracy just trying to get water to their fields, due to environmental pumping restrictions. Many farmers wonder how much longer they will be able to hold on and farm.
The San Luis Reservoir is pretty dry right now. Most of it's water is pumped from the Sacramento San Joaquin Delta and no rain means tighter restrictions for everyone. This combined with a natural drought and the upcoming March 1st announcement of zero percent allocation of water means the bureaucratic damn is about to burst. Something has to give. Please pray for rain and get involved. Here's what you can do: Contact your legislators and let them know that they have to do something to change this. Get some of your friends together and drive to our State Capital. Also, there is a bus leaving for the State Capitol next Thursday, January 16th for a Water Rally & Press Conference. Nothing is changed by sitting back and doing nothing, but we have to take action.

Joey Huffman, keyboard player for Hank Williams Jr. as you are aware from one of my past blogs had been diagnosed with a tumor. It is called a Trigeminal schwannomas. These tumors typically cause facial pain (TRIGEMINAL NEURALGIA). As they enlarge they can grow further into the cavernous sinus or into the posterior fossa, causing double vision, loss of coordination and other symptoms of brainstem compression. Trigeminal neuralgia (TN, or TGN), also known as prosopalgia, suicide disease, or Fothergill's disease is a neuropathic disorder characterized by episodes of intense pain in the face, originating from the trigeminal nerve. The clinical association between TN and hemifacial spasm is the so-called tic douloureux. It has been described as among the most painful conditions known to mankind.
He has been waiting to have this surgery now for over a month. Today is the day. He has been in surgery all morning long. It's a 4 to 5 hour surgery. Here is the last update on him from his close friend, my buddy Val King.
JOEY UPDATE #4 (11:30 a.m.): The nurse called on the Batphone and tumor almost out & they are gonna start closing him up within the next hour or so. All is going well....
First I'd like to ask all of you to continue in prayer for my friend Joey. It's going to be a long road to recovery. When I first wrote about him, he had no medical insurance. Thanks to the assistance of many folks. Some of his medical is covered, but not all of it. Plus he still has living expenses too because he can't work until he's all healed up. RIP Phil Everly. The Everly Brothers Deeply Rooted in Country Music. Inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001. We pay tribute to Phil today.
Phil & Don Everly, the Everly Brothers, the most influential vocal duo in music history. They brought their love of country music to rock 'n' roll in the 1950s and 1960s, transforming the pop charts of the day and inspiring many young rockers like the Beatles, Bob Dylan and the Byrds who would go on to change popular culture. Sadly Phil passed away this past Friday in Burbank California, from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. He was 74.
Songs like "Bye Bye Love" and "Wake Up Little Susie" continue to be a memory that we all share. We were hooked by their amazing harmonies. Their roots in country music were deep. Discovered by Chet Atkins who worked for RCA Records at the time. He arranged for a chance for the Everly Brothers to record for Columbia Records in early 1956. Both eventually inducted into the Country music Hall of Fame in 2001.
The two broke up during a disagreement in 1973 after 16 years of hits, then reunited in 1983, "sealing it with a hug," Phil Everly said.
There was a heavy outpouring on social media after Phil Everly's passing, prove The Everly Brothers are still relevant a half-century after their first hits.
Don Everly said he didn't expect to see the day his brother would pass.
"I loved my brother very much," the 76-year-old wrote. "I always thought I'd be the one to go first. ... The world might be mourning an Everly Brother, but I'm mourning my brother Phil Everly." Our condolences go out to Phil's wife and family and to Don Everly as well. Makes me want to hear an Everly Brothers song right now. Very sad another great one has earned his wings. May he rest in peace.

This Years Puppy Bowl Has Added A Fantasy Draft This Year! Who’s in? As if your Fantasy Football Draft wasn't stressful enough, fans will be able to see profiles of all 66 puppies and pick their teams at Animal Planet's website in the days leading up to the big game. Then on Feb. 2, Super Bowl Sunday, puppy fantasy owners can track how their “players” perform through statistics that the network will compile.
No one really knows how statistics will be measured since the game typically consists of puppies being puppies, who accidentally score a touchdown every once in a while, but we’ll leave that to the professionals to worry about.

According to the Visalia Times Delta, extra Visalia police were on city’s the streets New Year’s Eve night and the first morning of the New Year and they arrested one person on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The saturation detail started at 9 p.m. Tuesday and continued until 3 a.m. the next day with members of the department’s DUI Team looking for people who may have been driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Officers pulled over 23 vehicles during the detail and conducted four field-sobriety tests. Beside the DUI arrest, they issued 12 traffic citations that included one for a suspected unlicensed driver and one for suspicion of driving on a suspended license.
One vehicle was towed during the operation. I would say that's a pretty good night! Congratulations to everyone for not drinking and driving. If we can get it to no arrests made for DUI, then we've come a long way. But I would say, it looked like a pretty successful night.
Susana & Oscar Mendoza are the parents of a New Year's baby born Wednesday at Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia. Her name is Brea, born at 3:39am and she weighed 7lbs 9oz and measured 19 inches long.
The first baby born was at 3:18am when Larissa Ximena Delgado was born at Sierra View District Hospital in Porterville to parents Casandra and Frank Delgado. Congratulations, Happy birthday and New Year!
New Years Eve I stayed home with my honey who is also a New Year baby 52 years ago! It was a fun and quiet evening at home with our fur kids. Other than it sounding like a war zone at midnight in or little farm town where I live, it was a nice evening. Happy New Year Everyone!

New Laws on The Books in California for 2014
CALIFORNIA: It becomes the first state to give specific rights to transgender students starting in January unless opponents show they have gathered enough petition signatures to put a referendum before voters looking to overturn the law. It allows transgender students to choose which restroom to use and whether to play on boys' or girls' sports teams. Critics say that violates the privacy of other students. I’m sure we’ll hear more on this in 2014.
CALIFORNIA: Photographers who harass celebrities and their children face tougher penalties under a law backed by actresses Halle Berry and Jennifer Garner, who testified in favor of it. Halle told lawmakers that her daughter has been intimidated by aggressive photographers who follow them daily. Those who take photos and video of a child without consent and in a harassing manner could face up to a year in county jail and a fine of up to $10,000. They also can be sued for damages and attorney's fees under the new law, which media organizations opposed. Supporters say it also will help protect the children of police officers, judges and others who might be targets because of their parents' occupations.
CALIFORNIA: The minimum wage is being boosted to $9 an hour starting in July, the first of two dollar-an-hour boosts that will push the base minimum wage to $10 by 2016, making it one of the nation's highest minimums. Under another bill, domestic workers will have to be paid time and a half if they work more than nine hours in a day or more than 45 hours in a week; baby sitters are exempt.
A clarification of California’s distracted driving law has made it illegal for young drivers under 18 to use voice-activated texting, handheld, or hands-free calling. Any use of a cell phone is prohibited for these young drivers
On Sept. 16, 2014, California will require drivers to stay at least three feet away when passing bicyclists
The state will now begin collecting information about long gun purchases, such as shot guns or rifles. The state previously destroyed those records within five days.

2014 With All Of It's Good Intentions Is Right Around The Corner. My Plan Is To Save More Money. Here's How!
It's a 52 week money challenge. So you follow the chart each week and put this money away in your savings. I was looking at it and it appears to be pretty easy. The challenging part is towards the end of the year, but if you can persevere, you'll have nice little chuck of money put away for Christmas or whatever you might need. I saw this on Facebook, so I thought I'd give it a try. There are a few other things that I am planning for 2014. Another is to get my self in shape. My son is concerned for me since I have type 2 diabetes. Sooo, I think it's time to get this in check as well. I have 2 big challenges to have a better 2014. Christmas was all I could hope for. We had a ton of fun with the family. It was our grandson's first Christmas (That's Jabob with his daddy Luis holding him) and he was a pro at opening his gifts. We had everyone over to our house this Christmas so it was a lot of work, but very rewarding to have everyone there. We had so much food that everyone got to take a care package home. My son came from Miami, Florida to visit and we had so much fun running around. We were able to connect with someone from his childhood which was very special. Here's a picture of my son with his cousins. (my nephews)

Here's the reason why I know 2014 is going to be amazing. These two are so special, especially when they sing together. This is a clip of them singing "The Call" at Garth's final show from Las Vegas. It's just magical to hear their harmonies. So you know the tour is going to be great. Garth just recently said in an interview that it was going to be loud. They are working on creating a sound system just for the occasion as well as all the bells and whistles that go with a show of this magnitude. He also had a conversation with Mike & Lisa where he revealed that he would be leaving on tour some time in the Fall after his youngest daughter's high school graduation and summer. So we have a few months to save a few bucks after Christmas to get our tickets to see Garth. Who's with me? I've never seen Garth, so I'm very excited to check out a live show.

Let’s face it, we can all be stubborn and hang on to our anger or hurt about something and before you know it, years have passed and you’re still not speaking to someone. Super excited about Christmas this year. I have never been ready for Christmas. Every time it rolls around, I'm either broke as a joke, or time has gotten away from me and I never decorate or send cards or anything. This year, I wasn't able to send cards, but I am however having everyone over to my house for Christmas. It has been a process getting the house to look festive in between the busy work schedule and all the Christmas parties, but this year I have managed to pull it off! My honey says that I stress too much, but it's my grandson's first Christmas, my son is flying in, our daughter is coming in with her husband and the baby. In laws are coming over. So are my sisters and Dad. I'm doing most of the cooking or should I say catering because I don't have time to cook. So it should be great! I have never had everyone over at the same time and I think it's going to be a blast. When I was a kid, we always had a house full of people for Christmas. It was always fun and we have fond memories of all the fun. In fact, that's one of the things we do is share old stories of Christmas past. Here's hoping you're ready for Christmas and whatever you do enjoy your families and the time together. That's my Christmas tree that I finished decorating last night above. Filled with many decorations that I have collected over the years.
This is my son Aaron. He was born and raised in Fresno until we moved to South Florida when he was just 10 years old. He graduated college there and still lives in South Florida. He's flying in today! Yay!

It cracked me up, especially the lady laughing in the background. It sounds like she's ready to fall off her chair laughing. It’s going to be bigger and badder than ever! “We actually have a new sound system that’s never been used that’s coming — a new technology — so everyone in the room can feel the ‘thump,’” Dates and opening acts are all in the works as we speak. He had an amazing career and was someone many of our current country artists looked up to. Martina recorded one of his songs on her "Timeless" album, singing Make The World Go Away. Patty Loveless, covered Crazy Arms on her album. Clint Black tweeted "Sadly today, we lose one of Country music's greatest artists. Rest in peace,
I have to take a second and say it was a thrill to meet Charlie Daniels last week. He's a very special man. I love his strong beliefs, his passion for God and our soldiers and his music. He's salt of the earth! So that was 5 days ago. Here we are with 9 days more to go and it's Christmas. I spent Saturday with my sister Linda. We hadn't seen each other in a while, so I thought it would be good to set aside some time for a visit. We had a nice time and we couldn't manage to stay out of the stores! But I figured I only have this past weekend, because I made a vow not to be in the stores this week at all. Only the grocery store! Later in the evening it was my friend Raelene's annual "ladies only" Christmas party. It sure was fun seeing everyone again. Then Sunday was a work in the house kind of day. Put some lights up outside and clean and did laundry, plus finally got my book cases and books put up. You now how chores pile up and you say you'll get to them when you get to them. Me and my honey both feel a sense of accomplishment.
Over the weekend I received some very sad news about my High School Band Director Duane Weston.
Right now I want to take a moment to pay tribute to a man who meant a lot to me and my fellow band geeks. Duane Weston was our Band director at Roosevelt High School in Fresno, CA when I attended there in the mid 70's. He created an amazing marching band that brought pride and recognition to the central Valley. We performed for celebrities, heads of countries and various local dignitaries. We were proud to be in his band. We were a family. To this day, I am still friends with many of my fellow band mates. We marched in various competitions where we received superior recognition for our efforts, also in many NFL football game halftime shows. And the biggest event of my time under Duane Weston's direction, was marching in Mexico City on the presidential square for Mexican Independence Day for 60,000 people and President Luis Echevarria of Mexico. He happened to see us at one of our halftime shows in the US and invited us. We were the first marching band to ever march in Puebla, Zacatecas, Toluca and Mexico City. It was a proud moment in my life. He was an incredible teacher, believing in all of us more than we even believed in ourselves. He was always good for a joke or three! He loved to prank people and I was one of them. When I tried out for letter girl, the next day, he called me back to the uniform room because he had some news to tell me and he didn't want to tell me in front of everyone. (I thought he was going to tell me I didn't make it and he wanted to save me the embarrassment.) So with a very somber face, he started to tell me, "I don't know how to break this news to you Rose, but you made it! Then all of the letter girls popped out of the uniform closets to congratulate me. It was such a happy event in my life. My parents were so proud of me. We had so much fun the next year, which is the year we went to Mexico. After 1975, he left us for an opportunity to be the band director for COS here in Visalia, where under his leadership they thrived. Then many years later, even while he was retired, he was the director of the Clovis Community Band. Music and teaching were his passion and he loved all of us and would visit me on the air when I returned to Fresno from Miami, FL. I would then bump into him and his wonderful wife at the nail studio where she would get her manicure and he would get his pedicure. We laughed and joked as we always did. I am really going to miss him but as we all know, this isn't our permanent home. Heaven awaits and I know today it has a new marching band and director, Duane Weston. May he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family. He was one of a kind and has left a lasting impression on all who knew and loved him. A true legacy of a man who genuinely cared for people. Duane Weston, I love you and I'll miss you, RIP.
Every Christmas all over the country, the holidays come and go with not much attention to our elderly. Of course there are some of us who have elderly relatives who are included in all of our families fun, but there are others who have no family or loved ones they can share this time of year with. So in an effort to remember our beloved seniors, we are collecting throw blankets. In fact I picked up 2 yesterday at Old Navy for $7 bucks a piece. But you can find them anywhere. Last week the good folks at Advance Career Institute had a toy drive and gifts for seniors drive. They received plenty of toys but are still lacking in the gifts for seniors, so I thought I'd write and ask the good folks in JUG Country to help with this. They are currently in need of 100 throw blankets. Can you spare one? Maybe some folks in your office might want to give one. If you can, they can be dropped off by the close of business Monday, December 16th.

The Charlie Daniels show was incredible last night at Tachi Palace Bingo Hall. It was the first time I had been upstairs on the 3rd floor in the Bingo room. It's huge and perfect for a concert. I'm sure they designed it for this type of thing in mind. The show was outstanding and he played some of his hits, like Legend of Wooly Swamp, In America, Redneck song, Long Haired Country Boy, and Devil Went Down To Georgia. He paid tribute to a man he said was very nice to him when he moved to Nashville. He was talking about the great Johnny Cash and played Folsom Prison Blues, he also played an instrumental that he wrote for his band, which are all amazing musicians. He said they were the best band he has ever had. Then he brought out his acoustic guitar and began to play the intro to the gospel classic "How Great Thou Art." You could have heard a pin drop. There was such a reverence in the room. It felt like I was in church. People were raising their hands up and Charlie was singing his heart out. At the end of the song we were all on our feet. I was in tears too as were many others. It was a great night of music from the legendary Charlie Daniels. Thanks to Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino for having us there last night.

LeAnn Rimes Pay's Tribute To The Great Patsy Cline. It Was The Talk Of The ACA's Last Night! Hit The Link To See Her Amazing Performance and Lost Johnny Cash Sessions Found!
From the American Country Awards Show televised last night. This was definitely the talk of the awards show as well as Luke Bryan's big win. LeAnn Rimes, pays tribute to the Legendary Patsy Cline with a medley of her hits. The first part is done in black and white which gives you a feel of being transported back to the 60's. She then finishes with Sweet Dreams and sends the audience to their feet leaving LeAnn overwhelmed with emotion. It was a great night for her.
I'm so excited about this that I can't stand it. It's the lost album by the Man In Black. Johnny Cash recorded an album that was never released. Now, his estate is releasing the music in a new CD, which includes a Johnny Cash duet with Waylon Jennings and two with June Carter Cash. Also on the album is fellow Country Hall of Fame member Hargus "Pig" Robbins, keyboard player for many legends and his friend Marty Stuart. This is new never heard before music which was recorded in the 80's, but never released by Columbia Records. It was hidden away after the label dropped him in 1986. Turns out that Johnny & June stashed the tapes as well as many other things. According to their son, John Carter Cash, they never threw anything away. We're so glad they didn't. Be looking for the new album called "Out Among The Stars" to be released March 25th 2014. It has 12 cuts on it. Mark the date on your calendar so you can be one of the first to own a copy of it. ~Rose

So it's the holiday season and I feel like the target is on my back. Look I know all the retailers are trying to make money. We are all trying to compare and be wise when we spend our hard earned money. The only thing I'm going to say on this soapbox today is make sure when you see a sign on something you might be buying, be sure to read the fine print. Yesterday it happened to me twice. I needed a hairbrush and saw a quick dry brush for $11.99. The sign on it said, buy one get one free. Well that sounded like a good deal. I failed to read the fine print. I got to the check stand and they rang it up, then they rang up the second one. So I stopped the clerk and said, those are on sale, buy one get one free. She said when it scanned it didn't show up, so she called someone for a price check. Her manager was on the walkie talkie, talking back & forth to the other clerk looking for the item. She came back and said, it says buy one, get one free. I'm thinking, see I told you! She then pauses and says, oh but you gotta buy two! What the heck am I going to do with 3 hairbrushes? If it took the clerk that long to figure out, how about the consumer. (Read the fine print!) I'm just writing to say I don't blame the clerks or store manager, but the company and their shady business practices. This is all a ploy to get you to put it in your basket thinking one thing and finding out at the register that it's not what you originally thought. Hoping that you'll just buy it no matter what. I wonder how much extra money they make off of folks like me thinking they're getting a deal and really not all because we didn't read the fine print. I feel that's just plain sneaky and it pretty much infuriates me. I probably won't be shopping there much after this, because I feel like they're trying to rip me off. I don't take too kindly to that! So when you're out shopping read the signs well and especially the fine print so it doesn't happen to you. On to better things, like last nights live television production of "The Sound Of Music." I watched and was amazed at Carrie Underwood. This girl can do no wrong. I've always said she could sing the phone book and I was right. The critics weren't so kind, and they never are. But the 3 hour broadcast was a ratings hit. So put that in your critiquing pipes and smoke it! Early Nielsen numbers show 18.5 million viewers tuned in, the networks biggest Thursday audience (excluding football) since the night of "Frasier" series finale in 2004. And even among young adult viewers, it was the networks biggest Thursday since "ER's" 2009 finale and tied CBS' top rated "Big Bang Theory." That means 18.5 million could have been watching anything else, but chose to watch "Sound Of Music." I would have to say, well done Carrie Underwood and cast. I watched and sang just about every song. I felt like a kid again when I used to watch musicals with my mom. It was bitter sweet. All in all watching last nights show, left me feeling very happy and so glad I got to share in this historical moment of Carrie Underwood's incredible career. Great job Carrie!

He recently performed in the "CMA Country Christmas " event this past Monday, which I know many of you watched. He actually made several dreams come true for the beautiful and brave child. Luke performed an intimate, private concert when he met Tatum and her family. Tatum also attended the holiday special (after getting her hair and nails done, of course). At the end of his first song, Luke came off the stage to hug and kiss her — he even wore her bracelet while he sang ‘Run Run Rudolph!’ Her parents said that for this Make-a-Wish fulfillment, Luke Bryan went more than the extra mile. He gave the little girl a whole stash of goodies, including a license plate and boots, and added her name to one of his lyrics when he sang for her, which is incredibly sweet. He also gave the little girl a bus tour and they walked hand-in-hand back to her limo. Now get your Kleenex ready, because you're going to cry I promise and you'll love Luke Bryan more than you already do!
Now that was precious and the big reason why I love Country Music artists, especially Luke Bryan, the way I do.

Jimmy Fallon delights kids at St. Jude hospital
The late-night talk show host spent a heartwarming day with some of the patients at the children’s hospital, wearing a chicken costume to sing songs and play a game of Russian roulette (with eggs). Cash was a part of it. This aired today.

16-year-old Frankie Antonelli who has downs syndrome knew he was performing a Darius Rucker song in his High School talent show, but what he didn’t know was that Darius was going to join him on stage. This warmed my heart, because it reminded me that country music artist are the best and most caring group out there. There were cheers as Frankie sang Darius Rucker’s song, ‘We Still Got Time.’ But at about 3:10 sec into the song the cheers got louder as Daruis joins him on stage. Very cool moment and they ended the song with a hug on the stage of Wando High School in Rucker’s native South Carolina. I love country artists for this reason. They show their hearts and do wonderful things for others. There is no other genre that does it better than country.

I’ve had the honor of befriending Megan & Rob Shank along with their son Cash Shank , his older brother Wyatt and little sister Gracee. So for me this message is personal and comes with a lot of love. We’ve embraced them as our own. They are family. I think all of JUG Country as well as many all over the country and the world itself feel this way. We’ve watched their journey unfold before our very eyes. We’ve witnessed the heartache that Megan & Rob have had to endure watching their son Cash fight for his life. We celebrated his victories and cheered him on as he appeared to get better. Last week Megan went to Cash’s FB page and asked us for prayer for him as he was beginning to show signs of his illness again. It was she & Rob’s biggest fear. He was taken to the hospital for testing and the MRI results were not in his favor. The disease is back. It was crushing for the family including all of us who have prayed, given, hoped and celebrated. Now they are faced with the inevitable as the doctors say that they can do no more for him. Their plan is to make him as comfortable as possible while enjoying every second that they can with their son. A fund has been set up via gofundme for Cash. Cash is an inspiration to many including all of us here. He’s filmed two commercials for St. Jude’s – one with actress Jennifer Aniston in Los Angeles who he wowed with his outgoing & spunky personality and another one with talk show host Jimmy Fallon in New York. Look for the Thanks and Giving Campaign which will air over the Thanksgiving holiday. Cash went and filmed another commercial with Jimmy Fallon in New York as well. As Megan said, pay no attention to the egg in Jimmy's hair!
When he got off the plane from New York he appeared at the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. Many of us would have been too exhausted to even show up after traveling so far, but not Cash.
There are so many things that I have learned from this amazing 5 year old boy and that is never give up, keep fighting, dance, hug, smile, and #liveloud in spite of your circumstances. I love this child and I love his family and I will keep praying and believing for a miracle. I hope you’ll do the same. God Bless the Shank family! God Bless Cash!

The devastation is wide spread and thousands are without food & water. The Red Cross and many other humanitarian agencies are doing what they can to raise money to bring the badly needed basics to the Philippines. The photos and stories coming out of there are horrendous. Thank God for all of the wonderful agencies like the Red Cross who are setting up there and providing relief. I've been following this and feel moved to talk about it. It's hard to turn a blind eye and not do anything or pretend it's not happening. 11/12/13 Good Luck? Not For Me. Here's How Jake Owen Saved The Day With His Best Luke Bryan Impression!
So I get home last night and my usual routine is dinner, unwinding, maybe watch a DRV'd program on TV. My honey says he needs to go online and work on his health insurance survey online. So he goes back and tries to log onto Windows 7, he comes back into the kitchen and asks me what the password is again, which was what he used to log on and he said he couldn't get on. So I see that the CAPS lock is on, then I turn it off and try to log on and it won't log me on. So apparently I've been locked out of my sign in. You never realize how dependent you are to your computer until you're locked out. Needless to say, I went to bed late and was very frustrated! Not a good end to the day, but things could've been worse.
So this morning I wake up, I know what I have to do to get my computer unlocked. Grab my coffee, kiss my honey good bye. I get in my car, start it up and start to back out. Car doesn't feel right, so I put it in park and go and look at my tires. I have a flat! That's how my 11/12/13 started! LOL! Not a good luck day so far. But the good news is it didn't happen on my long drive to work. Thank God my honey gave me his truck keys and said get to work, I'll take care of it. I just love him! In any case, I just got to work and this video put a big ol' smile on my face. Pretty much rescued my day! It's Jake Owen doing his best Luke Bryan impression. Hey, it's a pretty good one too! It's a short clip, but did the trick. Hope it makes your day too!

We are paying tribute to our Veterans today! Especially those of the “Greatest Generation.” I found this story very touching. When these men served, many of them were in their late teens and early 20’s. This special group of men known as the Doolittle Raiders, the 80 men who risked their lives on a World War II bombing mission on Japan after the attack on Pearl Harbor were toasted one last time by their surviving comrades and honored with a Veterans Day weekend of fanfare shared by thousands.
Three of the four surviving Raiders attended the toast on Saturday at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Their late commander, Lt. Gen. James "Jimmy" Doolittle, started the tradition but they decided this ceremony would be their very last.
"May they rest in peace," Lt. Col. Richard Cole, 98, said before he and fellow Raiders — Lt. Col. Edward Saylor, 93, and Staff Sgt. David Thatcher, 92 — sipped cognac from specially engraved silver goblets. The 1896 cognac was saved for the occasion after being passed down from Doolittle.
Hundreds invited to the ceremony, including family members of deceased Raiders, watched as the three each called out "here" as a historian read the names of all 80 of the original airmen. The fourth surviving Raider, Lt. Col. Robert Hite, 93, couldn't travel to Ohio because of health problems. But son Wallace Hite said his father, wearing a Raiders blazer and other traditional garb for their reunions, made his own salute to the fallen with a silver goblet of wine at home in Nashville, Tenn., earlier in the week. Hite is the last survivor of eight Raiders who were captured by Japanese soldiers. Three were executed; another died in captivity.
A B-25 bomber flyover helped cap an afternoon memorial tribute in which a wreath was placed at the Doolittle Raider monument outside the museum. Museum officials estimated some 10,000 people turned out for Veterans Day weekend events honoring the 1942 mission credited with rallying American morale and throwing the Japanese off balance. God bless them all and where would we be if not for all who have played a part in the defense and security of freedom all over the globe.

I saw this video yesterday and had to re-apply my make-up. The wonderful young men on a middle school football team in Michigan have a deeper understanding of the game that many pros may never reach. The Olivet Eagles football team at Olivet Middle School in Olivet, Michigan, decided to run a play and intentionally not score, all without their coaches knowing. The football team planned the play for weeks, all so they could set up a very special moment for a special boy. Keith Orr is a special needs child, and his buddies on the football team decided to give him the chance to run for a touchdown. Sheridan Hedrick, a player on the team, would’ve easily scored a touchdown, but he instead took a knee on the 1-yard line, and the crowd wasn’t happy. That was until the next play happened: the “Keith Special.” The ball was hiked and quickly handed to Keith, who ran forward as his teammates protected him from the oncoming defense. Keith scored without a scratch. The boys did much more than help Keith score a touchdown; they brought more than a community together, because this video has gone viral. It has touched many lives for the better. I hope this video touches you the way it did me. (Go get your Kleenex, you’re going to need it!)

He is definitely dedicated to his family, even putting his dreams for a country music career on hold to stay home with his folks after both of his siblings passed. Made me love Luke Bryan even more. The Vince Gill show was out of this world. I got to play auctioneer and we raised over $2400 dollars for Family Services of Tulare County & The Visalia Fox Theater. Vince autographed two guitars and we auctioned those. The bidding was fast & furious and to be honest with you, that was my very first auction! Below is the set list from that night and I was fortunate enough to have a great conversation with Vince before the show and get it signed. He's a wonderful, down to earth man! Class act!
Here are a couple more shots of Vince and Pedal Steel Guitar Player, the amazing Paul Franklin who teamed up with Vince on the new album Bakersfield. We're hearing that Kennedy, 49, walked into the path of the bus in the northbound lane of US 41 North, we're also hearing that he was previously arrested on Oct. 8 for walking down the center lane of the same highway. A press release from the Vincennes Police Department shows that Kennedy "was found walking on the center line on U.S. Hwy 41 N. walking south, causing vehicles to have to brake on the highway." He was arrested for obstructing traffic, and held in the Knox County Jail on $3000 bond. He was also arrested on Oct. 22 for stealing a bicycle. He was charged with theft, a class D felony, and held in the Knox County Jail on $6500 bond. Jason was on the bus at the time of the crash, sent his condolences to Kennedy’s family. He said, "With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana," he said. "In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same." The investigation into the accident continues. We'll have more information when it becomes available.

I'm a very proud mom & he's a good son. We had a blast in South Florida where we stayed with him for a couple of days. Then we jumped on a cruise for 4 days with Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's called the "Simpleman Cruise." I've been on this cruise for the last 6 years and it is a celebration of music and frynds from all over the US and the world.
We took a tour through the home of the great writer Ernest Hemmingway &
went on an airboat ride and visit to the Gator Boys Gator Rescue where the

Rodney Atkins give us and early taste from his upcoming album with the debut single, ‘Doin’ It Right.’
The song was released last week, Tuesday (Oct. 8) exclusively on iTunes. Rodney says he knew from the first time he heard the uptempo song that he wanted it to be on his album.
“‘Doin’ It Right’ is a song I just heard [on a] Jay Knowles work tape, and it simply killed me,” Rodney tells Roughstock. “It reminded me of a Bob Dylan kind of lyric that just nailed me with every word. I felt like the good Lord needed me to hear this song. I couldn’t wait to record it. I pray that it touches folks’ lives the way it has touched mine.”.

This is Cassadee Pope's West Coast radio tour and we're one of her stops in the video. Watch to see if you can see yourself in it! Cassadee had been documenting her journey from winning NBC's hit show, The Voice, to becoming a Country star and all that happens in between with the CMT docu-series called Cassadee Pope: Frame By Frame. The show premiered last Friday and will when she visits JUG Country will air tonight at 10 p.m. ET/ PT on the network.

Finally we hear from someone who knows what's going on with Randy Travis. In an interview yesterday with Nancy O'Dell about his friend Randy Travis, Billy Ray Cyrus says to keep praying for him. He said, "If you love Randy Travis, keep praying for Randy Travis," said Billy, who appears alongside Randy Travis in the new TV pilot "Evil Inclinations." A rep for Randy Travis told ET that he is off of life support and "currently in Texas in physical therapy and doing great!" Randy is expected to go home tomorrow, (Friday) Last time I talked about this I had heard but not confirmed he went back to Texas. So this confirms it!

He now has a new album which reunites him with Dolly Parton, the title track with Dolly is called "You Can't Make Old Friends" Check out the video of the interview. This is his 65th studio album. That's pretty impressive.
The album is a collection of songs as diverse as this Kenny's career. No two of the 11 cuts could be placed neatly within the same sub-genre of country music. I love hearing stories like this. Everyday, we can do something to make a difference. Martina McBride‘s nationwide volunteer group Team Martina has 27,000 reasons to celebrate. The group had a very lofty goal of raising $20,000 in four weeks to assist in building the Chastain Park Conservancy Playground in Atlanta, which would serve as a world-class park for children of all abilities and needs. It was a big goal, but the group not only reached it — they surpassed it by $7,000! Together, Team Martina raised $27,000, and McBride is beaming with pride over the accomplishment, since the space will be upgraded so that it can be utilized by thousands of kids! Right now, the park (which houses the only playground for miles where it’s located) is small in relation to the amount of people who visit each year. These funds will allow for expansion and for equipment that can be used for both older and disabled children, making it a space for everyone. Great job "Team Martina!" Makes me love her even more. Always a force for good!

I have to tell you it has been very difficult trying to find out information about Randy Travis health condition, so I can bring you up to date. Last we heard, Sammy Kershaw had tweeted that Randy had caught pneumonia while in the rehab facility after leaving the hospital. The latest, I've heard is that he is back home in Texas. Can't say for sure how true this is, but I will continue to dig and find out what I can. But one thing we do know for sure is that he has an incredible new album out.. He recorded the tracks for Influence Vol. 1: The Man I Am before his illness. The covers album honors some of Travis' musical heroes like Lefty Frizzell, Merle Haggard and George Jones and also features a duet with Joe Nichols on "Tonight I'm Playing Possum," a tribute to George Jones. But Merle Haggard is the most represented singer with 8 cuts influenced by or recorded by him at some point. Continue to keep Randy in your prayers and hopefully we'll be seeing him soon.

Her husband Kyle Jacobs joined her on stage, while best friend and breast cancer survivor Summer Holt Miller watched from the audience. Last year you remember Kellie shaved her head in support of her BFF. ‘Someone Somewhere Tonight’ can be interpreted in so many ways, but there was little doubt that this version was meant for Kellie’s BFF Summer Miller. As she finished, Kellie’s voice cracked and then she broke down, running to hug her longtime friend. The two shared “I love you's” before the segment ended. Some people are just plain disgusting, but just like Toby Keith sang, "I'll Never Smoke Weed With Willie Again," this armadillo thief will be singing her own sad song when this is all said & done. First of all, you just don't steal. But more importantly, you don't steal from Willie Nelson!
There are plenty of clues & pictures, a lead on the suspect's name and her possible partner, and witnesses. Also gathering on the horizon: a posse of angry Willie Nelson fans and an big reward. Ol' Dillo as Willie Nelson calls him is a stuffed armadillo which has become a mascot for the band for the last 3 years and belongs to a member of Willie Nelson's stage crew. It was stolen after Nelson's Sept. 19 show.
According to the theater manager, he says, "We now are clear as to what the perpetrator looks like," he said. "We're going to close this thing up right and get that armadillo back to Mr. Nelson."

“Wild” Willie Seeley of Manahawkin, New Jersey, has one piece of advice for the winner of last week’s $400 million Powerball pot in South Carolina: Run. “Just disappear,” he said, speaking from his own experience. “Get lost while you still can.”
After Willie and 15 co-workers from Ocean County's vehicle maintenance garage shared part of an even bigger Powerball jackpot last month, $450 million, the "Ocean's 16" celebrated their win at a press conference where Willie stole the show with a long beard, tinted shades and a battered straw hat. “We are very happy, happy, happy,” he said to hoots and hollers from the crowd. “I’m going to continue to watch NASCAR races on Sunday. Maybe I’ll be at a log cabin on multiple acres of land.” Remember this guy now?
After his TODAY show appearance, a bunch of long-lost relatives, beggars and what felt like every reality TV producer in the country. “I pulled a .357 magnum on the last fellow who came walking up the driveway,” he said. That seemed to work, but the phone won’t stop ringing. National Geographic, A&E, Ryan Seacrest Productions — Seeley said he’s heard from them all.
“They put me in the National Enquirer, next to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw. I mean I ain’t into all that.”

Nothing infuriates me more than someone who takes advantage of babies, the elderly and animals! Check out this story and how a family dog just may have saved a child's life.
Just so you know, when I heard about this story, I was so mad I was fuming. Who says animals don't know if people are crooked. I believe that they are sensitive if people are sad, sick or upset. So why wouldn't they be able to sniff out an abuser? This is such a great story about a family pet that would get very protective over this young baby boy whenever the babysitter would come in. Glad the parents paid attention to their dog, because it turned out that baby sitter was evil. Check out the video. Moral to this story, pay attention to what your pets are saying, even if it is meowing or barking! They are trying to tell you something. ~Rose
My doggies are happy and are always wagging their tails. But one day I noticed that Bella's tail was wagging up and down and not side to side like most dogs. Have you noticed which way your dog's tail wags? I just thought this was so strange that I did a video of it for you to see. It's hilarious! If your dog's tail wags north and south instead of east and west, let me know, because right now I think Bella is the only dog in the world who's tail is like that.
