Keith Urban
Keith Urban officially became a member of the Grand Ole Opry during his Saturday night (April 21) appearance on the long-running radio show. Urban, born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, was inducted by Opry members Trace Adkins and Josh Turner. He received the invitation from fellow Opry members Vince Gill, Rascal Flatts, the Oak Ridge Boys and Diamond Rio in Nashville on April 10 while co-hosting the We're All for the Hall concert which raised $465,00 the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. Urban's wife, actress Nicole Kidman, was present for his Opry induction. Prior to his appearance, he told reporters his fans are responsible for his success and induction as an Opry member. "This opportunity for me is a way to say they don't know how much they mean to me. ... They're why I do what I do," he said.
